The mute sound addition is worth the price of admission. :thumb:

that's good news but i'd prefer having the ability to prevent websites from automatically playing (even downloading/streaming) video content without user intervention.

edit: my bad. it's already possible to set ff to block media autoplay under about:config ["media.autoplay.default" (1)].

I've been using an extension called Mute Sites By Default.

    https://github.com/abba23/mute-sites-by-default

It places a speaker icon on the tab which can be clicked on to un-mute the site; very convenient.

I had been using that add-on, too, but it's no longer needed as FF 66 displays a symbol at the left side of the address bar (only if relevant). If you click it you can un-mute the respective site.

FF 66 (64-bit) does feel quicker on my machines. More noticeable on my lower specc'ed laptop.

After turning off some related extensions I'm seeing that now in the address bar, thanks! I found this page helpful:

I have a question, today after some minutes of the new firefox 66.0.2 appeared a Kaspersky Kis2018 pop up that notice me about a plugin called Googleupdate.exe (1.3.34.7 googleupfateComRegisterShell64) that wants to install on firefox , why? I stopped the installation of that plugin

I've started having some annoying issues with Firefox 66.0.2 on Win 10 PRO.
N.B. I don't have any issues with the same Firefox, the same apps on Win10 Home.

    Here is my problems.
Any time I start Firefox, it automatically opens several tabs with the same information about Disconnect, PrivacyBadger, e-cleaner, WebRTC.
    It's only(!) on Win10 PRO.
I've removed those add-ons, re-installed them, but with no success.

    Any ideas?

zmechys, go to Options > General > Tabs and make sure Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order is unchecked. See if that works.

Also, I need to apply checkmarks on e-Cleaner's - Cookies, Forms, etc... every time I start Firefox.
I have it always checked ALL, but it does not saves after I close my Firefox.
