Right now I'm using kernel v4.18.0-16 on Linux Mint 19.1. This is through the update manager.

On UKUU, it goes up to kernel v5.0.2 stable version.

Any benefits of using the newer kernel versions?

    What versions are you using?

Don't bother with those kind of questions. Just keep using the kernel offered by your up-to-date distro.
Sure, some distros uses the very latest released kernel, but users may encounter unexpected issues.

I'm using Kernel 5.0.1-1 on Manjaro 18.0.4 without issue.
See here for changelog : https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=linux-2019-features&num=1

BTW, no amazing changes, it could be 4.3 instead of 5.0.

Newer kernel versions may provide hardware enablement for newer hardware/devices (drivers). If yours PC works great already don't bother about it. If yours shiny new PC is not supported by your kernel version, newer kernel version may or may not bring drivers needed for your hardware.
