If the ad blocking is as responsive as the UI, I'd gladly leave it in the shelves, not even mentioning the clumsy way of creating our own blocking rules.
This is amazing. Long time ABP user. I tried switching to other adblockers but they either break certain webpages or are too difficult for me to use. Like I could never for the life of my get the Facebook Annoyances Blocker Filter installed in uBlock Origin I could definitely feel my web browsing speed mush snappier now!
What? Importing a filterlist in uBO is really easy. Regarding the speed improvements in ABP: It remains to be seen if it is finally really as fast as uBO now. Even if it is, I will stay with uBO for various reasons: Dynamic Filtering with, consequently, various Blocking Modes available. Dynamic URL Filtering Strict Blocking The powerful Logger which presents all blocked and unblocked items in detail and allows to create dynamic and static rules Various Per-site switches (including, e.g., the option to block javascript by default and allow it only on specific sites) All this is not available in ABP. Hence, even if it has caught up performance-wise, uBO is still much more powerful and versatile.
Good to hear that ABP finally improved because it was an elephant among adblockers for past years. Nevertheless I stay coupled with Adguard on all my devices (iOS, Android, Win, macOS). Tried almost all available out there but nothing could compare with AG as regards filtering speed, features, creating own rules etc.
@pegas : I've tried the Adguard extension and I'm using Adguard Pro on my iOS and Android devices so I know what I'm talking about. If you say: ... it seems quite obvious to me that you've never looked thoroughly into the uBO wiki. But we're getting OT - this thread is about ABP.
I stopped taking APB serious once I saw they allowed animated ads to be displayed, same with Chrome's adblocker, what a joke.
I just switched to uBlock Origin bro, it's even faster than ABP and no configuration required to disable acceptable ads since it doesn't have any! Blocks everything unlike ABP
Yes, I do - although I don't use it as I'm running Linux on my desktop system. I was specifically referring to your mentioning "nothing could compare with AG as regards filtering speed, features, creating own rules etc." although most of uBO's features presented here are not available in AG.
Well look at it this way-with the proliferation of a good amount of these type add-ons, and fine tune improvements, an end user's personal browser choice is become a lot simpler no matter which one is selected for use. Good job add-ons developers!
