No posting on this thread about the supposed malware bypass of VS? That's kind of strange! Hummmm … I wonder why?

I haven't watched the video. Based on the posts I have read, it sounds this isn't a bypass of VS itself(at least not in the typical sense) but rather a demonstration of the AI's inefficiency against a particular type of malware.

Perhaps it would be for the best to remove Autopilot mode.

I believe that was developed for those wanting to be prompted as little as possible. I use Smart Mode myself and am rarely prompted for anything as I always put VS in Disable / Install Mode when installing or updating my programs, but I see quite a few use Always On Mode too.

As with everything related to computer safety, we each have to make a compromise on how secure vs how user-friendly our machines are. Those who choose to use Autopilot Mode should understand it is slightly less secure than the default Smart Mode.

It will be interesting to see what Dan does with v. 5.0. :thumb:

I am using the free version. When I booted up day VS showed a popup indicating a threat was blocked. At the time I was offline. Is there a way I can view the threat? Quarantine page was empty.

Does the log say what was blocked?

@Bertazzone, I was using the latest beta with Win7/64. I just did a system restore back to a few days when all seemed well. When restore finished VS popped up with same warning!!! I was offline. Removed beta and installed latest free version of public release. We shall see. Too strange.
@Triple Helix, I am not seeing VoodooShield in Program Data Win 7.
    Thanks for getting back.

@Rainwalker - Nothing in your User Log? Did you email VS with your issue?

Nothing in logs. I will not bother Dan with Free Version problems. Most likely my problem is computer specific as I have seen nothing similar posted here or there.

There should be even with the free version? You know it's a hidden area right?

There is a problem with voodooshield log. It fails to log some block events. VS free and VS pro should be the same in this aspect. I already complained about the logging problem on the official COU support thread.

I have had the non logged issue with the free version, with the version that was live before the giveway.
The PC was behaving strange and showed that 1 so called threat blocked with nothing logged though.

In relation to the AI issue, deactivating the AI Cloud removes the issue/danger, which that guy was showing off, with such great satisfaction?

Having other problems. I tried to buy the Pro Version and I could not get VS/Paypal site to accept my card. Card is fine and should have been accepted. Also could not sign in at COU. Been trying for two days now o_O

You shouldn't even need to get the Pro version. All bugs should be reported to Dan. He wants to know.

    @Bertazzone, I realize that.
@ TH, Yes, I do have an account over there. It did not recognize my password. I clicked Forgot Password and got nothing in email. With another try site informed me I had no account. I would like to be able to logon so as to question why VS site will not accept a perfectly good card.
