I want to install the hardware drivers from my Manufacturer "Asrock" web sight, I don't want the drivers from MS. I know this is possible during a clean install, but I don't know how to do it myself. As with Nvidia, you have to uninstall the driver MS installs and install the latest driver from Nvidia. But I don't want to have to do that, with my hardware drivers. I rather prevent MS from installing them, leaving them with the exclamation point in Device manager, and installing the ones from Asrock myself. Can someone enplane in detail, or do I have to use something like NTlite... IF I have to use something like NTlite (it's expensive), but I hear that it works really good. Possibly you know of a reduced Win 10 Image, that is from someone here (thus it is trustworthy) that I could use. I have 2 Windows 10 Licenses, so I would be able to activate any Windows 10 Pro Image I use, then install just the drivers and software I want. Thanks for any help possible..
It might be worth checking out the free version of NTLite, it is more limited in removals but if all you want to do is add drivers to an image I *think* it can do that without a license. During and after clean install, turn off your modem, and go to: control panel > System. On one tab, you have an option to disable installation of drivers from MS. Can't be more specific at the moment, I'm not in front of my computer.
Windows is always going to install some drivers as they included with the Windows and therefore don't need to be downloaded. But 99% of the time you will be able to go ahead and install the drivers from Asrock, without first having to uninstall the drivers Windows installed.
Rodney, I see this as doing it your way or the easy way. They will both produce the same result. Download the ASRock drivers on your current computer. Disconnect the Ethernet cable, install Win10, install ASRock drivers. Connect the Ethernet cable.
During installation process - yes, of course, but later automatic driver installation can be disabled by group policy. I have disabled it and even generic Microsoft's mouse driver (I only used touchpad during installation) was not installed. Windows 10 does not respected this on my laptop. Windows Update downloaded OS updates and 3rd party drivers anyway.
if it's just the gpu and an on-board gpu is present, disable asrock gpu via bios, cut off the internet connection, install w10, enable gpu via bios, install asrock drivers, do what @guest said, go online. if it's the mobo, you can't do that w/o modifying w10 installation files because like @roger_m said the drivers are already included in w10 installation files.
At least drivers on DVD don't clutter system so much as 3rd party drivers. For my biggest problem are 3rd party drivers downloaded by Windows Update, because they are not just strictly only drivers, but sometimes also some "experience services", 3rd party telemetry and GUI programs.
