A good alternative for Skype on the Windows desktop is "Wire".
    It has a familiar look/feel.
It also features peer-to-peer encrypted calls and end-to-end encrypted messages with optional timed expiry.

If it was good, then people would use it.
At the moment, you can only interact with yourself.
Good things do not need advertising.

I entered a specific website rule by turning my New Moon in Chrome 73 to W.10.
    It works.

After updating Skype to latest version 8.60.0.76 I get constant prompt to enter password for my personal certificate, although I don't use it as sign-in option:

According to similar reports from others it seems to be a problem with latest update. Anybody else experiencing this?

Is that the metro version or the desktop version?

Desktop version updated through internal updater. After that, I downloaded full installer and installed it over the top but problem did not go away.

Yes, I sign in using online account.
Well the strange thing is that I can't reproduce this behaviour this afternoon although I restarted my system yesterday few times and this prompt always appeared. Skype version is the same and I have no idea what changed since yesterday.

EDIT: about sign-in - did you mean signin to Windows? In that case I use local account.

Yes, I meant Windows. Strange, but then I am just trying to see if there's anything I could potentially use to test this on a separate host.
