Is the Malvertising filter list by Disconnect the only filter for Malvertising in UBO.

ubo is a bunch of lists vs ads and malware.
i dont use this list, its futile here.
in firefox it makes also no sense because firefox uses also disconnect inside.

I don't understand that question  Can't you see the available malware lists in the uBO dashboard? It shows 4 - but you can import many more if you want. If I choose Software = uBlock Origin and Tags = malware on that site, I get 40 lists. Selecting all of them certainly doesn't make sense.

Another good site with filterlists is https://firebog.net/

Is the Malvertising filter list by Disconnect included in any of the other malware or other filter list in OBO.

    no, why should it? *
if you read answers again you would see that you ask allover the same question - again: disconnect list is futile!

    * uB will sort and eliminate redundant entries

If you use the element picker and highlight the entire pop up and select create, it will create this:
    Code:
    www.facebook.com###u_0_q
It seems to block it fine on that page, but I don't know if it will work globally.

    Didn't block it for me.

I have added it to my filters, but then I can scroll but not click on any pics. The page is "grayed out" if that is correct English.

It looks as though the content of that page has changed since the rule I created. The pop-up is different (larger now) and my rule no longer blocks it. I'm now also unable to use element picker to create a custom block rule, without adversely affecting the rest of the page. The same problem you're encountering, I guess.

    @gorhill

for sometime now, i'm having this issue with the update mechanism for both ublock & umatrix. when it says the assets & 3rd party filters are outdated, i purge the cache and update them manually, then they appear as updated but in fact they are not and the number of filters never change. what could it be? tia.

try a fresh profile - i cannot confirm your trouble here with chromium or firefox.
probably a locked down profile with pointless privacy settings.

Which is the most current version of uBlockO (if any) that will work with Thunderbird 60.5?

I'm not sure if the legacy uBlockO was ever updated by gorhill to work with TB >= v60.0

There is none right now. The legacy version doesn't work, and the webext version will work with TB 66+. There are still some APIs missing, though.
