Some users Save settings via the Webroot App:

No only if it asks you to and the reason we say don't Import any old settings as it caries other things that may be causing any current issues a user might be having so we try to get them off on a clean reinstall without Importing any old settings and that's the only reason.

I don't see any scan time increase's so maybe it would be best to contact Webroot Support: Webroot Customer Service

Thank`s for clearing up - I don`t use to store any settings, so therefore nothing to remove.

    Scantime, mayby it`s a Win7 issue ?

Thank you for your time :)

Win 7 and earlier imo. Check next time your Win 7 device does a scan how long the last stage of the scan takes when the local agent is "phoning" back to base. Description on the screen at this last stage is Performing Central Analysis. Is this where it slows down (usually this last stage should be a second at maximum)?

Well I know @Baldrick has a Win 10 build 1809 so it's sounds like more, but again I don't see the the scan duration increase issue with my 2 Win 10 x64 build 1809 systems.

For me, the slowness is not in stage Performing Central Analysis - it begins around 40% and continues so nearly up to Performing Central Analysis -

I think I will try a clean install in the near future -

There seems to be an issue but I'm not seeing it on my systems and no one is reporting it at the Webroot Community. I'm seeing anywhere from 30 seconds to 50 seconds.

I didn't report it as an issue because -- to me -- it isn't an issue, as yet. If the duration of scans increases again, in a future release, THEN it will become an issue.

    Today's scan:
    Files scanned 25,002
    Processes 63
    Time elapsed 5m 42s

Frankly, I don't see how WSA can do a thorough scan of each & every 1 of your 11,294 files in only 50 seconds, TH. Does it use checksums to earmark files it has checked before so as to avoid rechecking them, or what?

Well, there must be a reason, at least for someone, while it from previus version to this latest one, increses scantime signifiently on the same amount of present files -

I still have my doubts that Webroot or any other AV can do a thorough scan of that many files in (e.g.) 39 seconds. If it is using checksums on some files, then it's a check of those files -- not an actual scan.

WSA's strength has always been it's Realtime Shield. A simple scan log will show you what has been scanned from it's last scan. Sometime I miss scans for days at a time....

    Hi Webrooters,
My friend knowing that I run WebrootSA asked me why Webroot VirusTotal engine was not detecting files that were well detected by other VirusTotal engines.
I explained to my friend that VirusTotal engines may differ from commercial product engines. I explained to my friend that VirusTotal detection may differ from commercial product classification. And that any comparison is not proper use of VirusTotal.

Before my friend sent me the two files that he wondered about.
I was unaware of their WebrootSA or VirusTotal classification.
I was unaware that Webroot classification was [U] for both and that VirusTotal classification for both files was "Clean".
I'm aware that VirusTotal "Clean" means not detected in any way and does not infer safe, clean nor white-listed by that engine.

So, while trying to help my friend.
I downloaded and WSA on-demand scanned both files a few times, over a few minutes.
I also checked files thru VirusTotal.
I also submitted both files thru Webroot online submission form.
I also posted both files to Webroot Support ticket.
I was thinking that in a day to a few days Webroot online submission and or Webroot ticket would review files and possibly update classification.

Both files (samples) went from unknown to known malware by WebrooSA in ~10 minutes and in awhile by VirusTotal.
I was so impressed by Webroot back-end quick classification update that I was moved to share my observation with Webroot Community, et al.

    Regards w Respect
