    The current version of SpyShelter seems to work an awful lot easier than version 9 or 10. The auto-allow is letting almost all the mainstream programs through, and SSF only prompts for the unusual stuff :thumb:

    So is it true Spyshelter is not really a firewall, it is more like Windows firewall control?

    It does NOT replace windows firewall, when installed?

    like many other firewalls, it uses WFP and add some features on top.

    I'm not familiar with Spyshelter so I'll ask

    What is WFP?

    If it is Windows Firewall Protection does Syshelter run without Windows Firewall being on?

    I don't use it, I use another firewall.

    @sdmod Only "firewall" version is using WFP (on Vista and higher) but the rest?...actualy there is no comparison to any other app...Windows firewall control also :)

    No it's not true, it's not like WFC. It works independently, so if you allow some app via WFC, then SS is still able to block it. Tools like WFC and GlassWire simply manage rules from the Windows Firewall. SS does not, it's a standalone firewall.

    Yes I saw it, but it sure is a lot more expensive than in the past LOL. They ask for €99, which I guess isn't a bad deal if you are true SpyShelter fan, and together with Comodo it's the only user controlled HIPS on the market.

    I am a very satisfied user of SpyShelter (SS) Premium. Thanks a LOT for notifying us of this update.

    Also, I continue to use Win7 on my laptop computer. I am very grateful that SS continues to support Win7!!!

    I still have a lifetime license, but I don't use SS anymore because its driver is not compatible with Windows core isolation. Perhaps I will give the new version a try to see if that problem is solved.

    The free version has been discontinued. "Abandoned" usually means the app is still available but is no longer updated.

    SpyShelter Free is no longer available for download at spyshelter.com but you can still get it over YONDER -- for the time being, at least.

    That site says SS Free is current for Windows versions up through 10, but it probably won't be fully okay for Win10's latest update(s).
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    As you probably know, SpyShelter very recently updated its PAID versions to be okay with the latest Win10 updates, as well as with Win11.
    It was similar situation in the past - free version has no regular updates. I think we should be patient :)
    Or else buy a paid version, as I did. In USD, the price is very reasonable for a security app as powerful as SpyShelter.
    @ichito -- Aloha from Hawaii to you and all of Poland! :-*
    Unfortunately, not...
    Even with a new ver.12.9, Windows Core Isolation has to be disabled, in order to run the driver. I've reported this issue to their support... I'm sure that they will try to resolve this.
    I just read henryg's post above and I am not sufficiently knowledgeable about computers to understand it. The part I don't understand is where henryg says, "Even with a new ver.12.9, Windows Core Isolation has to be disabled, in order to run the driver."
    I have no problem with SpyShelter but that may be because I am running Win7 & not Win10 or Win11.
    Can someone please explain henryg's post as I have quoted it in the first paragraph of my comment? Even if it doesn't apply to Win 7, I want to understand this facet of the latest Windows versions.
