Trying to disable that feature but to no avail. Googling for one hour to no avail.
I'm considering switching to Chrome from Firefox because I'm impressed with performance and advanced security features. I managed to block history recording but the freaking "recently closed tabs" are driving me nuts.

If I could somehow figure out what you want to do or achieve, might be I'm or somebody else is able to help. At the moment, at least I will not be able to understand what is your problem or what you want to do.
Do You want to disable history storing at all or You want to delete it somehow/someway automatically or what did You mean.
If possible, please explain, what exactly You mean.

Goto Settings > On startup > Click to select either "Open the New Tab page" or "Open a specific page or set of pages".

I assume you have selected "Continue where you left off".

I don't think you understand what I'm talking about.
Let me ask you something. Do you have in your history menu "recently closed" tabs?

Yup. And they are back even when I close Chrome and they show up when opening Chrome again.
But that happens if you sync your data into google account.

    You're right.

It seems there's no setting on Chrome to handle history/recent closed tabs at the moment.

But there are some extensions available claiming to do exactly that, try googling this:
    Code:
chrome clear history on exit extension
These two seem to being actively developed:
    Code:

Why do you want to not have that? Doesn't clearing history cache cookies etc. remove that? You can also use "private" browsing mode and you won't have that

Thx for suggestions. They clean everything but recently closed tabs. Unbelievable.

Why do I want that? Because I think that spying on people is not nice!?

Well this is funny, I actually can't find this feature, where can you access recently closed tabs? But yes, there are almost no customization options in Chrome, that's why I call it "Crappy Chrome", it's garbage. The bad news is that Firefox is now trying to become a clone of Chrome. That's why I had to dump it for Vivaldi, you should check it out.

it's in the upper right corner, hamburger menu - history. I'm actually using chromium based Brave browser. Recently switched from Firefox and I'm impressed with performance and low RAM footprint.

Thanks, I now see it, but after cleaning history the entries do disappear, so it seems to work. And I'm glad to hear you did find a better browser, but to me Brave isn't interesting because it also lacks certain features.
