This seems to be a departure from the prior 360 Degree Assessment & Certification reports in that it mostly used business/endpoint products for testing. Q1 & Q2 as well as earlier were focused on consumer products.

No. The 360 Degree Assessment & Certification has always been against consumer based AV products.

For 2018, MRG has added two tests for commercial based security products:

    1. Comparative Malware Protection Assessment - 2/2018
    2. Exploit & Post-Exploit Protection - 5/2018

What do you mean "No."? You are *confirming* what I said, not contradicting it.

The PDF from the download link provided is described as "360 Degree Assessment & Certification "

But if you read the contents of that PDF the products listed as tested are all
business or endpoint products. As I said - and you have confirmed - this is a departure
from prior reports where the 360 Degree Assessment & Certification evaluated consumer products.

Sorry, I didn't realize these were for the Endpoint versions. I just went to the charts for review.

Perhaps there is a shift by the AV labs to Endpoint products since AV-Comparatives is also now testing Endpoint products.

I kinda like testing done by MRG, they feel authentic. But I wonder why they only used a couple of ransomware samples. It also seems that a lot of security tools still have difficulty to block malware that are delivered by exploits.

Wondered the same thing myself.Their last 360 Assessment for consumer based AV products used 29 ransomware samples.

Also the MRG report states they tested with samples from two ransomware families. So it is possible more sample variants were actually used.
