    Hello,

Crystal Security now uses the Hybrid Analysis Public Feed for a Static engine.
The Static engine database is updated automatically every hour.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi @bjm_

Thank you for the interest. :)

The Static engine database is stored locally and the database is automatically updated every hour.

    Regards,
    Kardo

Um, are Detections listed for VirusTotal or Hybrid-Analysis.
What's reported when VT and H-A are not the same classification.
What does Clean mean. VirusTotal told me awhile back that "Clean" means not detected by that engine and does not infer Safe, Clean, White-listed by that engine. VT engines only detect/report malware.

@bjm_ That's only happening because it is a new installer that is not encountered very often as of yet.

It's FP...perhaps due to need of CS to have access to some parts of registry and system files. It's quite common that some AV vendors detect security tools as suspicious or even dangerous.

Giving this a shot looking for a good side security application to run alongside McAfee Live Security on some family members computers. My initial impression is it does seem to be a bit false-positive heavy which can be expected with the broad range of Anti-Malware engines running on VirusTotal. I will keep it running for a bit because it has not been a bad experience. Hoping to see how it will continue to grow in the future.

While I love the idea behind this app it's way to chatty for even after trying to fine tune the settings for some less technical family members. The protection is great but it seemed like Everytime Windows attempted to update, or a steam game tried to launch it was blocking something. Hopefully as the user base grows it can calm down with the FP's I'll still give it an occasional run on my machine but will be waiting for my less technical family

I began running CS today and I am VERY impressed:
    1) It is exceptionally light on cpu and RAM.
    2) It is stringently maintained.
    3) The creator of CS is a member of Wilders and has manifested a high degree of security expertise in his posts here.

It's rather difficult to make money with an app that is free, wot? If this app gets tested (by AV-Comparatives for example) & scores well, I would pay $$ for it. However, the GUI manifests a degree of complexity that might not market very well to average users. Who knows?

I do wish this developer well -- it's an excellent app so far.

By the way, I notice that @kardokristal hasn't posted since last June. He usually posts much more often than that. I hope he is okay.
