Thanks and I appreciate the suggestion. I've been on the internet for a long time and so far I've never had a serious issue. Probably helps that I do a clean install about twice a year too.

I just use a minimum. I am always weary about added programs from 3rd parties and what they collect and phone home about.

I am looking to add another program but I prefer to run it manually and not have it on all of the time. Possibly another anti-malware I can run.

    WIN10 all updated.
    O&O SHUTUP10
    Spy Shelter anti-keylogger
Keepass2 - To stay away from browser password saving
    Windows Defender
ADW Cleaner - I run manually occasionally.
    Glasswire Firewall
    uBlock original in Firefox
    AirVPN I run sometimes.
Signal - I use this to connect to my phone so I can type chat at my desktop through my phone number. Really nice and its encrypted.
Protonmail - for family and friends who use it too.

Same here. Did you happen to find a good alternative to it, though?

Is Winpatrol Plus needed? Is the development not dead now?

I think WinPatrol is not really needed, the developpement seems very long and hesitant. But, I like it, ... so many years alongside !!!
Seriously, I'll think about removing it.

What would you folks say is more secure and/or private?

Turning on Memory Core Isolation in Windows 10, or leaving it off so that a VM can be created for a Linux distro in Virtualbox and then day to day browsing done within the VM? As far as I know there is no way to run a VM with Memory Core Isolation enabled.

Have removed AdGuard and am now letting AdGuard Home handle my adblocking (installed on an old laptop). I'll give AdGuard for Windows another look once CoreLibs integration is in its beta stages.

Decided to move to the Long Term Servicing Branch (LTSB) of Windows 10 as I was tired of the bugs being introduced every six months. I have also moved to using Kaspersky Free.

Which version of LTSB did you install 1507 or 1607? Do you happen to know when next version will be released?

Thank you. I've had problems updating 1507 in past. I will test new version when it comes out :thumb:

Windows XP SP3 fully up to date with XP Embedded security updates

Panda Dome 18.06, Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 9.3, MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit 1.12.1.90, OSArmor 1.4.1, Comodo Memory Firewall 2.4.0.20.

I use Firefox 45.9 ESR with Decentraleyes 1.3.10, HTTPS Everywhere 5.2.21, Noscript Classic 5.1.8.6 and Ghostery 5.4.10.
Firefox 45.9 ESR passes the BrowserAudit tests without any critical errors. It also passes the Tencent Spectre check. The system uses an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ processor and so it is resistant to Meltdown.

This incarnation of Windows XP has been in continuous use since 2004 and I have YET to experience any effects of malware or even an intrusion. I have evolved numerous practices which tend to harden XP. I use OpenDNS.

For the sake of due diligence I no longer use XP for online banking and other transactions such as purchasing. Such uses ceased in April 2014. The biggest drawback to XP is the lack of HTML5 video playback. The system performance is like a newly installed Windows.

After XP's EOL I was waiting for news about mass exploitation and mass infections of those system. Guess what - nothing happened.
Also, did all those tools ever saved you from infection or exploit? I sometimes run XP in VM and so far never encountered anything suspicious even without such tight security as is yours.
And as you said, that thing is flying. That is true speed and how OS should run.

Firefox 45.9 ESR passes BrowserAudit without any critical errors. I was surprised to find that later versions of Firefox show up some (only a few) critical errors. The ESR versions have been found to be less insecure, probably because they lack the bells and whistles of the all singing all dancing regular versions.

I have been working on securing XP since 2002. Agnitum Outpost has constantly been the firewall since that time. I cannot say if 'all those tools' have saved me from infection or exploit. My system seems to have led a charmed life and I say that because I have been almost completely unaware of attacks which must surely have occurred but simply got silently swallowed up by my defences apart from warnings from Avast which I used from 2002 up to about a year ago. I will never know. Avast 10.4.2233 runs on my second pre-SSE2 XP system and looks like being supported with AV definitions by Avast for a while yet. A nice thing about Avast is the script scanning in Web Shield which is compatible with Firefox 45.9 ESR script execution.

DropMyRights is a very useful tool and I use it to run almost all application software in reduced privilege mode. Windows Explorer runs in admin mode for performance of admin tasks and the very nice Directory Opus 6.2.15 is started by DropMyRights and so clicking on a data file within it also starts the relevant application in reduced privilege mode.

I must remember to specify in my will that I want to be buried with my little Acer Travelmate 220 laptop which is the XP system using Panda Dome. With Firefox 45.9 ESR and Office 97, that machine is very useful. 512MB RAM goes a long way when using Panda Dome 18.06, Agnitum Outpost 6.5.3 free, MBAE 1.12.1.90 and OSArmor 1.4.1 which all have small footprints. For a PC with a 1.33333GHz Pentium 3 processor, it goes like a very lively cat.

Outpost Firewall has the very handy means of blocking attempts to use non-OpenDNS DNS servers.

I must shut up. I'm getting boring as my wife constantly tells me.

I doubt that this thread was started with a goal to reach a conclusion.
