Does women, on average, are willing to stay overtime in work if needed? How does this compare to men willingness to stay overtime at work? Some men work in office around 80 hours a week. How many women are willing to work so much?
How about women willingness to work in night-shift if needed?
I would not be surprised if men would be more willing to stay overtime more than women.

There are probably more variables that can change salary. This is just example. Just comparing certificates and salary is not enough.

This is just stupid. Women in general have no interest in technology the same way men in general have no interest in growing flowers or working in a nursery. This is how our society (western, in this case) shapes us from the very young age (blue for boys and pink for girls), and if you want to change things you should first start there. 'Encouraging' someone to do something he's been brainwashed to have no interest in just so you can prove your political corectness (to yourself) is a heavy hypocrisy at work.

Wow I can't believe some of these comments. Seer that is the most ignorant post I've read in a long time. Post 82....How does someones sex equate to willingness to work overtime? Get a grip guys. I know a few women that can code far better than most men. Lets remember something...I'm sure your mother didn't refuse to work a night shift taking care of your baby butt at 3am.

    I feel honored cruelsister.
It may be a cultural/language barrier at work here, but I don't think either of you got what I was trying to say. I could expand to hell and back, but this is not a topic that should be discussed on a security forum.

No you were loud and clear. Making a broad statement that women aren't interested in technology is ignorant. Same way that men can't work in a nursery or grow flowers. So since I'm a RN in a mostly female industry then I must have been brainwashed....

Oh my. That's not what I said, read the post again. I gave a general statement.
At the very young age, all children, no matter the gender, have the same interests, anything else would imply a genetical inheritance. Since this is not the case, as the children grow up, their interests start to separate influenced by external social factors. I'm not inventing hot water here, this is a well known trait of the society we live in and it's been like that for centuries. The roles are still given to genders, this is something that we still haven't, as a society, left behind us. As you say, kjdemuth, a 'mother' luls a baby at 3AM, right? Not the father, he has to work tomorrow and earn money.
To be blunt, I was pointing out how wrong this is, brute forcing a norm on the society without rooting the cause of it is not a solution. cruelsister is the last that should feel offended by my comment.

"Women in general have no interest in technology" Seems pretty broad to me. "In everyday language, a generalization is defined as a broad statement or an idea that is applied to a group of people or things"

In my native language the term 'in general' means 'in most cases' or 'majority'. Is it not the same in english?

Nuff said. Ask yourself why such a disparity exists or whatcha trying to say: men don't make good RNs? You don't need to move back in order to move forward.
