Would you let your boss into your email inbox? October 15, 2018 https://qz.com/work/1421815/front-ceo-mathilde-collin-wants-radical-transparency/
Very strange article. Somewhat implies that anything you do on your work PC is private whereas the exact opposite is true. All inbound and outbound e-mail is being screened and it is not just for malware purposes.
I guess there's maybe a case to be made in that sense but really why would anyone expect email privacy from their boss in working hours when you're getting paid to do a job?
Exactly true. At large corporations (Boeing as an example) an IT Admin can instantly access all company address email activity. It would be a disaster if a Gov Co had an employee die and their work in progress was lost. Not going to happen! Same with their company PGP traffic. All have Admin backdoors at a super high level. No run of the mill Admin, but a designated super user in the system. I would go as far as saying a company is very poorly run if company email addresses cannot be accessed by the corporate CEO or similar. Bad business.
I agree. This is old news. At least in the US, employees have no privacy from employers on devices and accounts that they provide. And I don't see a problem with that. If you want privacy, use personal devices and accounts. The gray area, I admit, is the bring-your-own-devices thing. That can be a nightmare for IT. Malware. Data leakage. So even if it's an employee's device, the employer has an interest in oversight. So just don't bring devices that you want to keep private.
