Hey guys... I am running late, but I will catch up on the posts soon.

Here is 4.53. It is essentially the same as 4.52, but a few users were having an issue with the internet connection detection bug, so I am hoping this will fix it. Thank you!

    Hi,

I am experiencing a problem with the latest version that says Internet Connection Not Detected. Windows is online. And VoodooShield and VoodooSheildService are allowed through the firewall.

This particular machine also has BitDefender Total Security and Sandboxie.

On my other machine I have Sandboxie and Simple Software Restiction Policy.

Both machines show the same error message .

Do you mean the version I posted above or the latest stable version?

Maybe best to post at COU - https://calendarofupdates.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=ivmvumikvahj88vvjrkn81o3f6&topic=770.0

Or maybe email Dan at support@voodooshield.com

can't recommend it since I got hacked when using VD shield with bitdefender,/windows firewall (the planted malicious exe was running without VD moaning about anything, happened twice, first time Bitdefender stopped it & second time no (40-60 VT detection but not seen by Bitdefender and VD at that time, had to wipe everything) but everything is hackable so my feedback objectively sucks and the program is probably improving. I personally don't feel safe using it for now though.

always on, the software is very good judging also on how rapidly is evolving, unfortunately manned attacks are difficult to stop, now I run VM and more layers of security, I don't feel safe for 1 second but at least I gonna make life a tad more difficult to attacker

    @Infected

hard to tell I was so unaware and stupid back there (maybe discord link - I was on discord when malicious software executed, before I also used peer to peer, bogus software like razer, back then it got 10 score rating and was exploitable https://www.cvedetails.com/cve/CVE-2017-9769/), its a little bit better in terms of security now, I don't take any risks -
    I've learnt my lesson
I think I was hacked since exe was executed from the desktop twice and voodoo didn't alert me (first time bitedender stopped it, second time maybe exe didn't execute properly or had time to, at any rate zero alerts), file with exe extension was also moved/manned - dragged, malware targeted bit defender since 40/60 score on virus total but no bitdefender detection, there is a chance it was just a malware doing stuff automatically but I think it was manned (targeted at bitdefender), however since I wiped all data I will never know what the hell happened - you should wipe if u suspect a rat (for instance avz tool was telling me "hotline" on port 1234, I didn't ignore that). Moreover I can't say 100% voodoo didn't do this or that, maybe it stopped worse infection from happening I just don't like it because I associate it in my mind with that event so obviously u can continue using voodoo, its my subjective opinion based on thin air.

it's pretty sad if something gets caught by Bitdefender but not by Voodoo..
knowing how paranoid you are, you have a terrible judgement when it comes to security suites you use.

Who would hack you? Do you consider yourself a target?
Self-inflicted infections are common, but hacks are pretty rare for home users AFAIK.

Yes of course it was probably my fault and manned attacks are against companies indeed. This wasn't something I have seen before so I personally think it was manned but I repeat I don't know. Malware was planted/appeared out of nowhere and executed from desktop, unknown malicious file I have never seen, it was targeted at my AV in particular (checked against virus total), after the first attack immediately failed. It was also dragged on the desktop, there was a connection spotted by avz by oleg, I was shocked (smile). There are countries in which international law is not respected so ppl of any age/experience can simply train on you or use your pc for something nefarious (many ways of using a home PC - store hot data, C&C, make life difficult/worse to someone, same attitude like with stalking or just for the fun of it). Have you seen a real hacking? it can happen to anybody, even faster if you already downloaded something malicious. I did not investigate since I think it leads nowhere and nobody can really help you (institutions guarding against credit banking/fraud will want even more info from you to even help you - info that you should never use with a connected to Internet PC, and they are victims themselves of data leakage - this happened alot in past years, police or expert will take your pc for examination and for a long time so you shoot yourself in the foot if you use pc for working, and I'd rather have the Police investigate something important you know, ISP will only help companies), I prefer wipe, change firmware and use full backup, 2 hours instead of many months. I also choose to stay more informed and take less risks. I believe you are alone in such case unless you want to ho though alot of hassle and spend money.
Thankfully there are companies like no virus thanks or even voodoo shield that try to help ppl otherwise I would not use Internet anymore, I have already changed to very distrustful/paranoid and I don't enjoy my PC the same way as I used to, I miss the old days when I didn't care.

Wow, that is a chilling experience.
I can only guess that you got hit by a RAT, granting remote access to the attacker, and the remote access was crudely used.
