It is more preferable to Compact/Defrag the Registry than Clean it. I hope PrivaZer add such Feature...
Just downloaded the latest version, and it still shows "Cleaning Registry" during cleaning even though the "Do not Clean Registry" box is checked. Any insight on what it's doing would be helpful (reassuring). Thanks.
Hello, @ArchiveX, we will work on it. When erasing registry keys or values , PrivaZer overwrites them with some patterns to make them unrecoverable before deleting them. @Homer712, If something is really erased in the registry, it should show "registry objects cleaned" with a value different from zero like below (161). Anyway, you are right, the step "cleaning the registry" could be skipped as it will not delete anything. Will do it a next release. Thanks.
I just updated to the latest version 3.0.54 and tried to wipe some files from a NAS drive. It selected the files (JPGs) and then right clicked on them and hit Delete without trace. It appeared like it was wiping them but they were still there like nothing happened. I'm not sure why it would show that it was deleting them but actually doing nothing to them.
I have scheduled cleanup setup for my C drive and whenever it finishes every week my windows view type (extra large icon, detail, etc.) is reset for every single location... Is there a option to disable this so I don't have to keep setting certain folders as detailed view, some as extra large icon view, etc.? Thanks.
Hello, disable the Shellbags cleanup in PrivaZer as Shellbags store your folder view settings. To preserve some Shellbags and remove all others (as Shellbags is a privacy issue, we recommend to remove them to preserve your privacy), please use our software Shellbag Analyzer & Cleaner you can find it here and it is free : https://privazer.com/download-shellbag-analyzer-shellbag-cleaner.php simply let it run and uncheck in the list the folders for which you want to preserve the folder view settings. OK?
Before I do something that can't be undone . . . downloaded the ShellBag Analyzer & Cleaner. When it's done with the analyze it shows me 2151 ShellBags Found and 1109 Traces of Deleted Folders. On the far right of the window there's a drop down that allows for Show All, Deleted Folders, etc. Question I have is this: if I use that drop down menu to show only the Traces of Deleted Folders, and then select Clean, will it clean only the Traces of Deleted Folders, or will it still clean everything, regardless of the selection in the drop down menu?
This drop-down is only for filetring the view. After the analysis, you click on the "Clean" button and you will have the choice to select what you want to clean before the cleanup actually starts.
Nice job @The_PrivaZer_Team on this little overlooked but powerhouse addition. On your own advice some time ago testing by ticking ALL boxes I am happy to share that there is not been any issue whatsoever by cleaning-removing-wiping the whole ShellBags area at once. Besides, fact is as you already are aware, those are normally additional but however, immediate tracking-loggings anyway and on some machines where Memory might be luxury and in short supply, regularly using ShellBag Analyzer & Cleaner offers the system more responsiveness since they add up quickly over a short time.

Hi, When closing Chrome Privazer kicks in with automatic cleanup, when it finishes and I relaunch chrome my extensions are all reset. Is this an option in the settings somewhere I need to uncheck? Thanks!
