Boy I sure messed that post up... SORRY...

OK CS, guest, and Other Members. Here is what I'm talking about. I chose to use photo screen shots to illustrate. This is just one app, it happens to a few.

Here is what happened. I chose to run an app, Comodo ends up blocking it. I select unblock and comodo blocks again. Other than that Cylance and Comodo doing well together on my PC.

Photos follow in order of appearance. 1-7...

avoid Comodo 11, use 10.2, and export your final settings in case it forgets them. haven't had a bug the past 3 months.

Humm maybe it's not my imagination.... Quote from another security forum....

"I ran this offline installer, and it indeed installs Comodo 10.
After installing and configuring CFW, I ran an unrecognized file, and from the HIPS prompt, I chose the option to block, terminate and undo changes.
It works too well. https://malwaretips.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies.emoji/people/smiley.emoji.svg It also deleted every icon on my taskbar. Umm, no thanks. I guess I don't need this program after all..."

Rod- You don't need the HIPS; the farther that one strays from the settings I suggest the more one will run into issues as User systems are so diverse. Keep it Simple.

And the SpectorMeltdown Check issue- although the product is signed, it will throw off various powershell scripts, not signed, which CF hates. This is the same mechanism by which one would be protected by malware that Ophelia codes.

That is not what it is supposed to be, if a vendors implement a feature, it must work without issues.
The options are there for the user, so the user should use them without issues. You buy a car with airbags, you expect it to work.
you can't say, "oh if you drive to a wall, maybe the airbag may fail to kick"...come on...

P.s: i dont talk about people that use stuff they fail to understand.

U- I have tested the HIPS myself on numerous occasions over the years and it has worked without flaw. Actually it can yield much valuable information on how a given malware file works.

Although I cannot say that somebody sometime can have an issue with it, I can say that with my setup there will be nothing added. Also remember that in the past with Comodo the default setup was HIPS on, Sandbox off.

BY THE WAY... This is a quote. I didn't write this...The part that attracted my attention, was that his icons disappeared, and that has happened to me with CFW.

Thanks U for writing. I have to say the airbag analogy is important, no matter what software we are discussing.

Yes I know Meg, they turned it off when the BB was implemented. I also don't remember having issues with it.
If my memory is good, it is the file rating module, when you add tons of rules, that causes the settings to disappear.

I know you are not a big fan of prompting stuff. (hips, anti-exe, etc...), hence your special Comodo settings
