It's a bit too simple, that's why the newest FF also sucks. No ability to double click to close tabs, no ability to put tabs on bottom. Actually, Chrome is better than FF because at least the download and bookmarks manager are tab based.
I've been using a Chrome extension called Font Rendering Enhancer for a while. It might help with the current problem.

Regarding chrome://version Variations (list of Field Trials): It looks like with Chrome 71 (still a ways off), those will finally be a human readable list of current Field Trials instead of unreadable tokens which we cannot currently identify. Link: https://twitter.com/ericlaw/status/1039636055874588672 Image example: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dm2HZa-VAAElHuY.jpg This will be good because those field trials are generally random and different from user to user as Chrome devs trial different features, ranging from 0% of userbase to 100% of userbase as they have the ability to scale and also pull back a feature if it causes problems.

Google restores 'www' to Chrome URLs after user backlash But not for long - they will be gone again by Chrome 70. September 13, 2018 https://www.zdnet.com/article/google-restores-www-to-chrome-urls-after-user-backlash/
Yes, someone else also mentioned this, and it does improve things but not on all sites. BTW, I noticed that when you close the only open tab, Chrome also shuts down, what a joke. Chrome is the biggest crap ever!
There's an extension available now that prevents the browser window from closing when closing the last tab called "Last Tab".
Will check it out, but you shouldn't need to install extensions for this kind of basic stuff. Especially since a lot of extensions are not trustworthy. And Google claims to care about security this much, what a joke. Also, Chrome still opens zillions of processes in the background.

Regarding Chrome 69 Stable and the ThirdPartyModulesBlocking feature which is intended to block the injection of third-party DLL modules: As we know, you can view details of potential DLL conflicts here: chrome://conflicts/ Now, what I found interesting today was a difference between Chromium (and other non-official builds) and Google Chrome official build. Official Chrome build also shows a new column on the right side of the page showing Conflicts Status. Google Chrome (from chrome://conflicts page): Chromium (from chrome://conflicts page):
FYI. Google Chrome Portable 69.0.3497.100 Stable (web browser) Released for the PA Platform, courtesy of PortableApps.com.
It's interesting why they've been sharing only the 32-bit version for a long time. Why no more 64-bit version not available. Does anybody know?
PortableApps has been testing a 64-bit version for awhile: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google-chrome-portable-64

Seriously, Chrome has to be the biggest crap ever created. How can you stop it from launching the Google home page (including browser history) when you launch a new tab?
