Which is quite understandable and should never come as any surprise to anyone except the very new. Why?

Google is been at this game far far longer. That's it in a nutshell. They cornered the market long ago when most today's user's were either still in diapers or not even thought of yet.

I guess using Google Search and YouTube (without being logged in) is nothing compared to running the data-harvesting platforms Google Android and Google Chrome.

Nothing new here. If nothing else it still serves as a reminder how devious and double tongued Google was and still is.
Zuckerberg wont be shedding a solitary tear. It doesn't really matter if it's FB Google M$ Apple etc they're all in bed together harvesting that said "firehose" of data for the same cause - to facilitate the means for a detailed and up to date dossier/profile on every person on the planet.
There ya go - perfect example of double speak and what you can expect to continue.
I wouldn't call it nothing, but more to a lesser degree. The thing is, what is so pervasive is that giants like Google build a profile of you over time. The things we did and naturally used to forget about before the internet, are now held indefinitely for all and sundry to be used for any number of nefarious purposes.

Maybe the only solution is to not use the Internet at all? Although that only minimizes the amount of data, the government can collect on you, because they still have countless other ways to spy on people, and because everything you do these days is tied to a data base or the Internet. And since everything is recorded and stored in computer databases, and since these databases are becoming easier and easier for the government agencies to collect and search up data and information on you, you can't really avoid the government's survelliance unless you go completely off the grid. Which is impossible these days, since the government is making it illegal to live off the land, collect rain water, gather food from the wild and the government is making it illegal in every way possible for anyone to live independently of their monopoly of all the human and natural resources on this planet.

As I keep saying. Use nested VPN chains and Tor, compartmentalize and practice good OPSEC. That grants you tons of slack.

Google aka:Alphabet is been at this a whole lot longer then anyone else so they are bound to be expert at it, as well as making their rounds about every other way there is. The Google spider has a longetivity backed by a lot of miles & experience.

The whole reason this runaway problem has gotten started in the first place, is people have swallowed the bait and traded good old fashioned values (such as privacy) for convenient bells and whistles. That, coupled with an overdose of selfishness makes the ideal lethal weapon to get the masses more enslaved whilst the tech habit gets more firmly entrenched. Preparation (conditioning) for this state of mind for the masses has been happening not just for years, but decades. There's certain people behind closed doors who are very very happy how things are progressing.

Until it's game over (and it will come) there's still things you can do to minimise the invasion of privacy online, like being careful what you put online. You're not going to keel over and die if you've never joined or want to leave places like FB. There's so much stupidity online that people think is necessary, but the truth is it's not. For millenia people lived full and happy lives without this nonsense. We've only had the internet a few short decades, but speak a word against it and people cry and holler like spoiled brats as if we've had it forever.

5G is another weapon which will significantly enslave people to a new level. There is so much this technology is capable of. What we have now will be nothing compared to when they fully deploy this beast system with multiple small cells EVERYWHERE right around the world. Untested. Rushed out in a hurry. But true to form, people will carry on feeding the addiction to their last dying breath and still call it fun. People can find the answer to this if they want it which is more up to date than tomorrows newspaper.

And seriously, compartmentalization! Also, manage your personas to be similar to others' personas. Borrow slang and language quirks. Talk about stuff in similar ways. Have similar outside interests. Have fun messing with observers.

The reality is that it isn't that hard to not end up as part of an algorithm, the collection relies on people logging into G Mail, Google account or not clearing your browser regularly.

There are plenty of apps, or sandboxing and clearing on exit, to reset the data sucker Chrome and Google is.

Compartmentalization is the key, clear your browser before different activities and as for social media; I think we all have enough of the crazy in us to avoid that.

The Internet was a military project, by the way, so it was conceived as a means of survelliancing the public. And they (the government) have pretty much succeed in survelliancing everything you do via the Internet. lol you have "freedom" and "privacy" when using the Internet...complete lies...I'm not saying you should disconnect from the Internet completely. Just don't do anything that makes Big-Brother interested in investigating you, and don't become a target of unsavory government agencies.

Not really, I think. It was a way for military, universities, contractors, etc to communicate. So privacy just wasn't an issue, because it was essential for all users to be known to each other. It was also a secure and reliable way to make sure those nukes got launched against the Soviets and/or Chinese, after a surprise first strike. And later, the military developed Tor, as an overlay for anonymous communications.

And anyway, you can have as much privacy and freedom as you're willing to take. You just gotta learn the requisite OPSEC. And compartmentalize!

Land o fruits and nuts, and more crime.
Hit them where it hurts (money), stop using Chrome, g-mail, map, and any thing else related to that "pig company".
Also google search is a big one to avoid!
Twitter is the same, both companies are prejudice, and racist! (time to play my race card!)

I just made a thread about this study to raise awareness. Forgot to search it first. Got removed. Well, then I'll just bump this thread :p
