Dear @markloman Sophos Support is now sending me back to HitmanPro Support, but no reaction since Tuesday.

According to Sophos Support the issue is fixed with version 3.6.17.618, so my only chance is to contact hitman team support.

Do you have a suggestion where can I address this issue?

    BR Arjan

You could contact SurfRight/Sophos QA Engineer RonnyT and/or developer erikloman and/or developer markloman directly via forum conversation, and see if one of them would be so kind to help you.

    Hi Arjan,
I just replied on the ticket, Sophos has different version numbering so fixes cannot be compared with HMP.A releases.

    Dear @Stupendous Man,

Build 751 is running great here.

I think you need a minimum number of posts for that, probably 10.

There is a minimum forum post count, or minimum forum membership duration, before one is able to use the conversation (DM, PM) option. I thought 10 posts would've been enough for that, but I suppose you hadn't reached that limit by the time you tried, or you need a few more posts, or a few more days, to be able to use that option.
Anyhow, great that RonnyT was able to help you!

Anyone have issues using HitmanPro Alert 3.7.8 build 751 and MalwareBytes 3.5.1?
Since the latest updates either the HitmamPro Alert service would stop working or Malwarebytes service.

Even so much so I had to either disable the HitmanPro Alert service (or put it on manual startup) or remove HitmanPro.Alert to have a clean startup of Windows 10 Pro.

No, but I have Exploit Protection disabled in MB.

I don't know if this should still be enough to prevent issues with the combination of HMPA and Malwarebytes.
Perhaps, CaptainLeonidasHMPA's experience might tell that it isn't.

I'm well aware of what Erik wrote but I choose to disable Exploit Protection in MB anyway. Having both running does not make my machines twice as protected but it will waste system resources. Others can do as they choose.

    Yes, I fully understand, Krusty.
I just meant to suggest that what Erik mentioned February 2017 may not always (or no longer?) be enough to prevent issues with the combination of HMPA and Malwarebytes, and that CaptainLeonidasHMPA's experience might show that it isn't enough.

    @CaptainLeonidasHMPA,
Have you tried what Krusty does, disabling Exploit Protection in Malwarebytes?
February 2017, Erik mentioned there was no need to do so, but perhaps things changed since then, perhaps recently, and perhaps it is better to disable Exploit Protection in Malwarebytes, if Malwarebytes is used together with HMPA.
And if the combination of HMPA and Malwarebytes isn't what is causing the trouble, perhaps it is something else in your combination of Windows 10 1803, Avast IS, Malwarebytes and HMPA. I cannot tell. If disabling Exploit Protection in Malwarebytes doesn't help, perhaps someone has another suggestion.

Ah, good that you found that information.
So if perhaps the combination of HMPA and Malwarebytes was no problem, the combination of Malwarebytes with Avast now is. And that is a recent new issue, if I understand correctly.
Stacking security software is always tricky, in the sense that conflicts may arise. If all works well, you think all is OK. But then things change, and it can be hard to pinpoint the culprit. Good that you found out it's a Malwarebytes - Avast conflict.

    Hello,

Can someone tell me if it is worth to install Hitman Pro Alert with another AV product, like Kaspersky for example ?
What is the added value of HMPA in a few words?
I've been seeing this product for a long time now and i'm still wondering if i have to install it ...
    Thanks.

Thanks, I can read the web site and all the marketing stuff ... but if i post here, it's because i want expert advices of people who know why they installed that product ... not just because the web site says "Yes we have a great product, come here and get it."

Don't be offended, i suspect that product is good, I just want to have some experts confirmation.

I can tell you why I don't use it anymore - it's buggy and support is exceedingly slow. There isn't any way at present to exclude/whitelist files from real-time protection, there are longstanding incompatibility issues with some AV products and the network filter component will die under certain common conditions (another issue reported to support and never fixed). I'd suggest trialling the product and ensuring it's compatible with the apps you use, your AV, etc.

I'm happy with HMP.A. It serves as a second layer of defense on top of your regular AV protection.

No single product can stop every threat that your computer might encounter, therefore it's useful to have troops in reserve to stop what the front-line defenses miss. We might call it "defense in depth."

HMP.A plays well with the AV products (Norton, Bit Defender) that I use on a variety of computers. Definitely worth it IMHO.

I myself like the stacked security approach on any OS used.

Hence I like to keep using HMPA, MBAM and Avast alongside of each other. For now MBAM is uninstalled but the second an update is brought forward it will be back again on my computers.

Yesterday, I received an automatic upgrade notification to go from build 750 to 751. I rebooted, and I have no issues to report. Could someone please post the release notes?
