Thanks @Ashanta, would have to test to confirm that setting was indeed my culprit (#319, on two machines), but will leave it for now :cautious:.

I can't confirm as I don't have any current task on my computer.
It could be the culprit. Try to edit the date and the hour of your schedule task for Macrium and uncheck 'Task Scheduler Job Files' to see the new results.

In reading thru this thread, I am convinced that I should stay with CCleaner. I at least know what it does to my pc. These others may be good, but I am not confident of their settings and as many have posted, I might be just be exchanging CC problems for other cleaners problems.

I, too, took me awhile to convince myself to replace CCleaner with another cleaner. I've spent many hours trying all cleaners mentioned here on my test machine. Once I found the cleaner that can be configured for my liking, I went ahead and installed it on my main machine.

I stayed with CCleaner also. I just switched to portable version and blocked outbound network connections.

I'm still using CCleaner (not portable) and also block it and its Emergency Updater from accessing the 'net. I'm waiting to see what their next version will be like.

Yep, I've looked around for a replacement and maybe I'm too stoopid to use the others but I'm sticking with Ccleaner too.

You shouldn't have any issues with Wise Disk Cleaner. I would avoid HDCleaner at the moment.

I just checked my email and had received a reply from the developer of HDCleaner. The issue with deleting scheduled tasks, will be fixed in the next version.

Yes, you said that you had bought six Kerish Doctor licenses! ;) But, I still don't know whether you [still] think CCleaner is the better way to go for you, though. ...So, I am still confused. :)

Oh, Kerish Doctor is fine but I prefer Ccleaner for what it is supposed to do.
A little info-- I love software and love buying it. :D

Let me give you an example of what I did a few minutes ago.
I ran Ccleaner regular cleaner plus registry cleaner.
Then I ran Kerish Doctor - Full Scan and Cleanup of Junk Files - found very little of anything
Then Glary Utilities - Scan for Issues and it found NOTHING

While Kerish is good at fixing issues and there's nothing remarkable about its junk cleaner. Wise Disk Cleaner, should find a lot more junk than any of those.

John, FWIW, never had a problem with Wise Disk Cleaner (including also advanced, slimming tabs) with default settings.

Good to know there was indeed a problem, and the dev is responsive :thumb:. Thanks for following up Roger.

I don't understand for which reasons you have by default unchecked 'Task Scheduler Job Files.
This is not what I have when I'm running as it.
Which version do you use, portable or installed ?
I don't have such troubles with the installed version:

I don't anymore. I made another post about it.
I think there may have been an issue with a build released a few days ago, which lead to just about everything being unchecked, as I never manually did that. There were a number of updates for HDCleaner released in the last few days.

What I like about CCleaner which I can't find in other claners is that it can easily delete the uninstallable Windows Store apps. Any other cleaner has this feature?

no it can uninstall the apps that cannot be uninstalled by simply right clicking on them and choosing uninstall ike Alarms and clocks, Photos, etc. I use CCleaner upon a clean install to remove all apps with the exception of the calculator and Xbox app
