I last tested it a few months ago. It had very high CPU use in my case. It also was a bit buggy. When you run a scan, it runs silently in the background, and there is no scan progress shown.

There are much better alternatives in my opinion.

I read they also now use Bitdefender's engine. I wonder what happened to CA's engine. They should've kept both.

I did used it for a bit. They don't have any web protection, unless you install their toolbar, which is not available Edge or Chrome.

Well it is actually available for Chrome. However, when I tried to use it, Chrome wouldn't let me enable it. Firefox as well. I contacted them, but there was nothing they could do besides suggest me to use their Traffic Light add-on for Firefox.

I was wrong about their web blocking. They do have it without the toolbar. Their web blocking is only available in the internet security versions.

I recently got a macOS device and decided to give Total Defense a try, since I have a three year license. The Mac version is also a full rebrand of Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac, judging by the identical UI of both products. However, once installed, every time I booted into the OS, Total Defense kept telling me that my license was expired despite having over one year left. I tried reinstalling the product several times, but the result was the same. Can't be bothered to find out why this keeps happening.

I haven't tried the new version. Every time I use this product, there is always some issue.

Now if you enter this code "SAVE10"after you click buy when you go to the above website you get a $60.00 discount.... That's 1 yr for 10 devices, for the Ultimate Version of Total Defender.

I tried the trial, very fast on my PC, apps open very quick, and web pages load very fast....When I tried the version before this one, maybe a year ago, it was slow on my PC. This version very fast.

It's a shame that there are no trial versions.

Thanks for that. I saw that the trial version was two years old and had not installed it, as I didn't know it would update to the new version.

The ultimate version has some added mods that aren't really needed in my opinion. Premium is blazing fast on my PC.....

I just installed the anti-virus it on one of my computers. On my Windows 10 install, for some reason is fails to start scans, so I installed it on Windows 8.1. I ran a Quick Scan, which completed quickly and CPU remained fairly low. However, I'm running a Full Scan now and CPU use is constantly at between 95 and 99 percent, which is way too much.

You don't need a serial number to trial it. He entered a serial number because he purchased it.
