Just how much more NVT @guest can a user be expected to squeeze in? :shifty:

Is the whitelist of Driver Radar Pro stored in a file or in registry? I'm trying to recover my previous whitelist now, after I was trying to whitelist a driver whose blocking crashed the system (\System32\drivers\acpials.sys) and accidentally added the entire System32\drivers\ directory instead...

(I have to admit that this option is somewhat annoying... there really should be a confirmation after adding a whitelisted entry, plus adding the directory should be a second option in the on-screen order, as the menu will be typically only used to whitelist one specific file...)

Edit: found it, it's in ProgramData\NoVirusThanks\Driver Radar Pro\Data\ - no way to restore a previous copy, so now my whitelist has every driver in System32\drivers\ ...)

Thanks @Lorina for sharing what looks like a really useful suggestion for @novirusthanks to perhaps consider adding.....

I admit I also am somewhat at a loss myself but been able to muster through adding individual drivers to all 3 categories manually.

But am a bit baffled on if it's the proper sequence-procedure-

Looks like I may have to uninstall DRP :O, at least from one system - almost every time it stopped a driver, it crashed / bluescreened the entire OS on two different PCs (Win64 Pro), with the same error - drvradar.sys ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY - and I typically just tolerated it, since the blocking happens rarely after you give it a day or two of learning mode... but now it caused the crash during Windows Update, and as a result, the entire Windows Update is corrupted and unusable on that system... :| (beyond repair, too; even resetting it with the batch available from Microsoft doesn't fix it).

Huge fan of this Driver Radar Pro. @novirusthanks

-andreas- Understood your team is busy with OSA for the foreseen future but can you throw out a potential timetable later when this great program might see an update as well.

Frankly the Whitelist + Pop up notification detailing exactly when drivers are IN REAL TIME attempting to load. especially ANY that have yet to be entered into the Green Lighted list of Hash, Path, And File/Folder

User hands on Configuration makes it Exceptional!!

It is a fantastic program that rises straight up in an instant ANY driver is loading (even whitelisted) which lets a user observe with confidence the system's DRIVER loadings have immediately been recognized. And with LOCKDOWN stops any of those cold for review.

I assume PATH in the whitelist is to offer provision for those type of tools like PCHunter that use different driver rename convention when at first it fails to load :thumbd:

In Lockdown Mode those first run of drivers/services of various security programs (or any other for that matter), if it happens to be blocked DOES make for some harrowing nanomoments.

In it's current -1.8 rather abandoned version DriverRadarPro for some is still very useful.
Not sure if there's a similar alternative around or not that monitors driver loading.

There used to be a case for protecting drivers but since Windows 10, all drivers have to be signed by Microsoft so one malware vector is now closed.

DRP is also been useful in making sure common drivers designed to initiate are loading. At least on 8 systems. On Windows 10 it's used for mainly that purpose as well. Also in testing malware with Shadow Defender on 10 to ensure MD is properly doing as expected, or not.

I doubt we will ever see another update to this NVT DriverRadarPro Program. Then again it might.

This invention is still percolating and doing outstanding. NVT really should pat themselves for sharing a simple application as this and it's relevant even in 2023 perhaps beyond for us throwbacks.

As they say ya better grab you a copy before they pinch it.

Currently, I don’t see this application being useful in Windows 10 and above.

    Maybe I’m wrong?

No you are probably right and the company is probably right in leaving it to rust before pulling D/L links.

That's why I mentioned it's still a workhorse for us throwbacks that still enjoy our Windows 8
