    Thanks, I checked them out, they still use Google. <frown> I did note you can not allow Goggle. Will give them a try. At first glance, the deck is also stacked in a few of the test searches I tried. I'm the sort of person who like to see all sides of issues before deciding on my own position. Search engines all seem to promote one side.

    aamof, i got what you mean by "privacy user". it was more like a rhetorical post which was referring to the same aspect of this post by @SnowWalker

    I've been using searx.me since you recommended it. So far I am finding it to be quite satisfactory. What brought me to make this reply was search term I just entered (four letter abbreviation) came up #1 with searx.me. Using Google it was on page 2 at #15. I find many of the things I search for are showing up on the first page of results. Think I will be testing a bit more. <grin>

    Edit: I checked out https://search.disconnect.me/; It uses DuckDuckGo.

    I think searx.me must have its own way of filtering spam and irrelevant content, because I usually find what I want within the first three entries.
