After Threats, Austin Founder Shut Down Browser Firm Authenticated Reality August 02, 2018 https://www.xconomy.com/texas/2018/...nder-shut-browser-firm-authenticated-reality/
That is very strange. I wonder what proving identity to a browser could accomplish. I mean, how would random websites access that information? Would you get an Authenticated Reality email address?
From the article Chris Ciabarra sounds like a super nice guy. Another instance where fake newsers are getting violent. This **** is accelerating way too fast for me to live out my life in peace I'm afraid.
This is the future. At some stage people are going to have to be accountable for what they do online, I’ve read of some other proposals, and this is another idea. Enjoy the chaos we have now, it will end. It could actually be good as it would control the nutters and potentially give people control over their data. On the other hand it could take all the fun out. Or it would descend once again into the Wild West internet we have today.
The Internet is fine apart from a handful of overgrown companies like Google, Facebook etc. They're the fake news, they're the problem, not people or "the Russians". But their existence sits on top of a perverted and corrupted financial/monetary system and until that implodes things can only get worse.
The perverted and corrupted system is the only reason you will live longer than those before you and are able to use a computer to access the net. I’m not sure what part of the system you want to change, to be more like China, Russia, how about Zimbabwe?
This project for sure got some pushback. So it's not totally hopeless in the US. But look at China, India, and various Middle Eastern countries. For them, knowing identity is essential for social control.
