    I have the latest version indeed. I'm going to try older ones. Thanks for your suggestion.
    Older versions available via SD website:

    Does SD (still) work well with the latest free (home) version of rollback RX?
    I had some issues and stopped using SD and Rollback RX (getting an error on computer startup).

    Why doesn't shadowdefender.com have a ssl digital certificate considering they are meant to be security related product?

    Since updating to the latest version my desktop seems sluggish and the mouse tends to be sluggish when moving it around, anyone else having this issue?

    I'm not using the new version but in your situation I might try uninstalling Shadow Defender. Turn pc off. Try a fresh installation. Let me know how it goes.

    It seems like maybe two dogs are fighting over the same bone. There have been conflicts in the past with Zemana and System Safety Monitor. Maybe some kernel level conflict....something running deep...like Anti Virus software or system monitor software...that sort of thing.

    @sdmod,

    By chance are you running any newer version of which Windows 10 crept in sparking vendors to make changes for compatibility?

    I am sticking with Windows 8.1 and been staying on SD 1.4.0.578 which seem to do just fine. As always Patrick, Thanks for your support

    Yes it was a while ago and probably not relevent any more but I thought it worth mentioning.
    Conflicts that Shadow Defender had in the distant past were those sorts of things. A slow down and stickiness is often deep level giants fighting it out over the ownership and holding of files. Not that I know much about it but that is what experience has shown me

    Patrick.

    Thanks EASTER, much appreciated.
    On my xp sp 3 32 bit ntfs system I still run Shadow Defender 1.4.0.519 and it's served me well.

    I'm good with the version I use too. SD is been picture perfect dependable every single time for me. In fact SD and DriveSnapshot imager are the only 2 softwares from Windows early days that still well outperform as good as ever on this end. Nice track record.

    Do you rely on SD as your primary layer of protection against XP's security vulnerabilities? ...just curious.
