I don't like the built-in launchers so I'm seeking a stand-alone launcher that is user-friendly & efficient. Any suggestions &/or links will be greatly appreciated.
A launcher is an app that does what Windows Quick Launch et alia does. To wit, it launches any one or more of the applications or folders that you have assigned to it. On any search bar (Google, DuckduckGo, Softpedia, etc) type "launcher software" & you will get many hits. "Launcher" is a standard term for a genre of applications.

@Pliskin Thanks for the comprehensive list. I've been after a launcher for some time, but have never taken the time to see what's available. I'm using dlinkz now and it is just what I was looking for.
Yes, this i know. You could have just said app launcher for windows. There are many launchers, launchers for phones, windows, hacks and such, but ok..
I've just installed that too. It's much faster at searching for programs than doing so from the Start Menu.
