i got sick in the stomach when i saw the product settings dropdown "hey lets configure the **** out of these products so they have a chance, oh and these handful, nah, just leave it default"
"In business environments, and with business products in general, it is usual for products to be configured by the system administrator, in accordance with vendor’s guidelines, and so we allowed all vendors to configure their respective products. About half of the vendors provide their products with optimal default settings which are ready to use, and did therefore not change any settings." This approach is also described in the best practices and guidelines of amtso.
I'm surprised that so many solutions failed to block malware samples. And BTW, as usual Win Def was the only one who got 31 counts of "user dependent", which basically means it failed to classify it as malware. In my book it means that it failed 31 times. And I've never before heard of Saint Security are they a new player? I would like them to test enSilo and Barkly next time.
There is also something about this test that does not "sit right with me" in regards to WD's detections. In the realtime protection test, WD had 31 detections that required user interaction. Whereas in the malware protection test, there were no detections requiring user interaction.
