All the more reason to hate Microsoft.

Perhaps they believe it would be safer for links to open Edge in case those links lead to malware.

Windows not obeying user's wish? Nothing new from MS.
With such move, maybe people will drop their Mail app also.

    Answer: Avoid the mail app?

I doubt it. However there are always going to be workarounds pop up for those Chromers-Firefoxers who frown on the idea.

    And they'll find it.

MS fails miserably at being subtle. :argh:

I assume MS will not publish the results from the WIP feedback on this. I am expecting MS will just announce that they'd received an overwhelming response (!) and have therefore decided to implement the change. I wonder how the enterprise will respond as things have changed dramatically since the days of IE being the default browser.

I don't use the Mail application but in Windows Live Mail I can right click a link and copy it, then paste it into any browser. This cannot be done with Mail?

I'm sure you can, but it's not quite as quick and easy as simply clicking on a link.

That is nice. With my settings, Edge crashes upon launch. I just hope, that it really applies to Windows Mail only. :doubt:

Come on now, lets not all down MS, its not their fault no one wants to use their crappy web browser, its our fault for not using it and giving them no other choice but to force us to. :p

I use Microsoft Edge. It’s one of the two browsers I really like to use.

I envy teenagers. All this oppressive **** is normal to them cause it's all they know.

I can vouch that it pops up a box asking which browser to open a link in. I experienced it last night in Mail. Maybe I'm one of the lucky testers it's being trialed on(I'm not an Insider).
