Hopefully you will. PC Manager is an interesting app. The current English versions, are bit too buggy for my liking, but I would give a major new release a try.

    Agree!
IMO their cloud is very strong and they've realtime Bitdefender signatures, which is a big plus for a free AV (Qihoo 360 doesn't, not even in the premium version, they update only once a day).
Regarding BB / HIPS, both could be (much) better.

The strongest BB I've come across are @ Emsisoft and @ Quick Heal. Both aren't that strong in the signatures dept. (especially not Quick Heal, they have delayed signatures as well, even though you pay for it). Note that only the Total Security of Quick Heal uses Bitdefender signatures.

No idea if Tencent updates the rules with the quite often new releases (seem to be only minor fixes with every upgrade, as the product version only differs by one number in the rear numbers.

What bugs have you found with the Global version?
    Haven't come across bugs yet.

Yes, I'm really eager of a major release!
Would love to see the chinese version improvements!

If you are multi-booting two or more installations of Windows, it wants to delete a needed folder from the other installation of Windows. From memory, it may be the ProgramData folder.
When I was using PC Manager a lot, when my computer had been running for a few days, often when PC Manager displayed a notification window, it would be totally black, with nothing visible. The only way to fix this, was rebooting. I'm not sure if this particular bug was ever fixed, as I've only used PC Manager very briefly lately.

It does have some potential and is one of the lightest antiviruses that I've used.

I was thinking to add Tencent PCManager TAV edition (cloud only, without the Bitdefender engine) to NoVirusThanks OSArmor, which is a great BB.
But it seems that now the TAV edition is not available on their website.
Does anybody know why? And how to download it?

EDIT: I found the link: pcmgr-global "dot" com/download.php?do=self

They've remove the download for it. I used archive.org, to visit an old version of the PC Manager site, to get the download link for the TAV version. But, the download link, no longer works.

I found the download link in the http version of their website: http://pcmgr-global.com/
TAV version is 12.3.26524.901, while Bitdefender version (in the https website) is 12.3.26552.901

    Sorry for the late reply!
No multi-boot here, and no issues so far (let alone the BB not being that good).

As for the black notification window, haven't seen it yet.
Using Tencent on off, installed it now on my main machine, as Panda Dome runs in a VM (they're incompatible to ShadowDefender).

P.S. No feedback yet by the developer regarding the international version upgrading to the features of the chinese one, neither on Forum nor by Mail.

Sounds like the TAV version is discontinued?
No idea what they update with new versions, but judging from the huge difference in version no., I'd use the one with BD engine rather.

It was only an occasional issue and maybe it's been fixed, considering that new program versions, are released every few weeks.
No, the download link is back up again.

    No TAV here

    @imuade
Why would you actually prefer the TAV to the one with a free and realtime 3rd Party engine on top?

+what about the features? Did you notice any differences regarding BB / HIPS? Same as in the one with BD engine? Same product version (after upgrade)?

    @roger_m
Good to see your issue has been solved probably!
Yes, TCPM updates very often, I agree!

Well, I'd rather avoid the need to download signatures every time I boot my PC, but for what @roger_m said, it should be lightweight even when using BD engine.
VB100 made years on both BD and TAV versions and they catched the same amount of malware

This is the link to the changelog of the chinese version.
It seems that they have added only some tools (recovery of accidentaly deleted files, pc cleaning and such).
The international version looks more focus on protection only, without whistles and bells

    Thanks!

Yes, just like Q360 TS they've a lot unnecessary stuff, but the chinese version uses TAV engine v3, which I would be interested in!
Agree, protection capabilities are more important than fancy features!

Maybe it's just me, but the BB of TAV version seems to be more reactive than the one within the Bitdefender version!
Judging from EDIT: April 2018 testing of Tencent with Bitdefender (on Malwaretips), which in some tests missed everything not detected by signatures, and today, 14/18 by BB! Not even one by cloud!

P.S. Yes, the http version still has the TAV for download :)

Oh, and TAV version is super lightweight, small package, and the Quick Scan is insanely fast compared to the BD version!

@DreamsandVisions I've installed the TAV version and it is extremely light. It does have minor issues with false positives, which has been an ongoing issue with PC Manager. But, at least you can whitelist anything you want to keep, with a single click, unlike with most antiviruses.

This is the first time, that I've used the TAV version.

    It is fantastic!
No FP yet, knocking on Wood.
    Haven’t installed Steam currently.

Good to hear it’s only minor issues!

Exactly, TCPM is one of the best AVs in ease of use!

Will switch from the BD Version to TAV, after those great results and the lightness!

Haven’t used TAV before last weekend either.
However, I have AppCheck AR and Sphinx Soft Win10 Firewall Control running flawlessly next to TCPM, so the TAV one will do the job as well :)

    http:// website is finally down.
The link to the TAV version has removed from the https:// website for some reason.

You can still get the (currently) latest TAV here:

Can you change the DNS without getting a notice EVERY time you start/reboot? Last time i tested it it hijacked my DNS with their recommended d.o, if i changed it i always got a varning about it. A varning that one could not stop in any way.

My former post was regarding the non TAV version.

Now i tried the TAV and the selfprotection does not stick after activation. I press apply - ok, and close the program. When i reopen it, it is back to - temporarily disabled.

Confirm, not solvable even with reinstallation.
Autoresets to "OFF" once the window is closed, even if you turn it on and click "apply".
A pity, Tencent PCM has great HIPS (TAV version)!

@DreamsandVisions On my computer, it's always enabled. However, I have had other issues.

I installed the Chinese version of PC Manager. I thought I was just downloading and instalingl the junk cleaner, but it was the full antivirus, which replaced the English version. Anyway, I uninstalled it and installed the international version again. After running a Quick Scan and quarantining some items, Windows wouldn't boot. I restored a registry backup, to get my computer working again. There must have been something that was detected, which I added to the ignore list, last time, but this time I let PC Manager remove, which caused the issue.

It used to on my PC as well.

But as I tried to install it on my laptop, it did not anymore.
Even with Admin rights and Windows Defender turned off.

    Oh, this sounds severe.
Maybe one should let it's fingers off Tencent, it's quite buggy currently?
Especially the Bitdefender equipped version is not up to the TAV version in terms of BB, even though it's updated every one or two weeks.

I gave Tencent PC Manager a try and I didn't find any downsides, apart from the not so good English translation :p
It's really lightweight and the web protection is impressive: it works without any browser extension and it catched some few hours old phishtank items that even Kaspersky Free missed.
After a quick scan it found some suspicious entries on the registry, but they were FPs (two of them were related to my Canon printer, the others to Microsoft WebCheck).
I told TPCM to trust them and it placed them in the whitelist, so the next full scan ended without any finding.
I'll keep it for a while and see how it performs :)

    Sounds promising!
    Also glad you like it!

    Which one did you try?
The one with the Bitdefender engine or the TAV version?

Last named seems to be gone unfortunately, I cannot find any link to it on the Tencent PCM Global page anymore?

    Installed it just now.
Let's see how it does in the long run :)
It runs noticeable lighter than Q360 TS at least.

Which browser did you use to test PhishTank links?
Not sure if the browsing protection does work with Cent Browser, might need to compare to IE and Edge?
