Ah! Drag'n'drop results in an "executable is not supported" message (the 'Add' operation does not.) The current version of that program is four-plus years old and I've forgotten that the executable lacks standard version info. I actually stuck DisplayVersion in the registry myself the last time a new version was released.

 

That's the cause of the problem.

The program being flagged (convert.exe) is part of my Qfinder Pro installation. The program lists a third party app (ImageMagick Studio) and I'm not sure if updating this will break anything. What is the SUMO policy when installed apps contain older third-party executables?

I assume in my case this will be a valid candidate for Skip or Ignore. Most likely Skip, otherwise I won't get any more notifications when the exe gets a new version update using Ignore, right?

Understood, but what about my first question about installed apps using parts of a 3rd party app that isn't really installed on the system?

 

I usually filter out sub-products and there's nothing I can do for 3rd party apps embedded within a specific app.

Not sure what you mean. I only wanted to inform you that it is now official and the beta filter that you made for it can be removed because of my previous error report.

AdGuard again incorrectly reporting an update is available. It seems every beta or nightly release is flagged as an stable update...third time in a week
Reported it twice this week...may have to set it to ignore...not what I want to do when I have paid for SUMo.

edit:
Disappeared after accessing website and then doing a check from the SUMO context menu. There are a few programs that behave this way. They report an update and then disappear after rechecking. Why would this be?

 

Fixed yesterday but today SUMo once again reporting there is an update for AdGuard when there is not...becoming a daily occurrence. It will like the boy who cried wolf...

 

They are releasing too much beta versions

 

Should this happen again, save log and send them to me for analyis.

 

It's back and doesn't disappear.

 

I think it is because of the combination of the SUMo logic for report of software updates and the fact that the specific program has a very limited number of users in the SUMo users database.
In this case, this rule applies: (%>20%) and (#users>1) and (#tot_users<10).
The result is that a recheck by only one or two of the users can change whether a software version is reported as current or not.
In this case, if 10.0.0.9 is beta, it can be flagged as such by Kyle or by one of the SUMo 'helpers/ power users'.

 

1st time running sumo:
