Hi er, is there any way I can uninstall the driverupdater from the toolbox? It (driverupdater.exe) kept popping up an UAC windows asking me for permission to make changes, but did not offer me a check-box to say "do not ask again" :(

I don't think there is. But, maybe you can delete driverupdater.exe.
Are you using the paid version of 360? I've never seen the driver updater run automatically, with the free version of 360 TS.

Thanks Roger. I'm using the free version, but I might have clicked on the driverupdater icon in Toolbox while browsing through it. That might have triggered 360 to try n install the utility. Deleting the exe file might cause the system to then pop up with file missing error though? So I'm going to uninstall 360 n reinstall again. Fingers crossed...

@tk55 Clicking on the icon, will have opened it. There's no need to uninstall 360. The driver updater, is installed, when you install 360, but will only run when you click on its icon.

did not work! had looked at it more closely this time. it is the silence check it was trying to perform and i'm on an user account, and everytime driverupdater tried to start, it pops up an uac windows asking for admin permission to make changes.

So it'll be great if it can be uninstalled or disabled totally. else i think i'll finally have to give up on the total security and go with the essential.....

If it is starting automatically, you may be able to disable it from within 360. If not, you should be able to disable it from Task Scheduler.

yes it started automatically, but can't disable within 360, nor there's any entry in task scheduler. i've looked into regedit, but i'm not very savvy, and could only find a driverupdater entry that has the option to disable notification when drivers updates are found. i could do that in the settings already so it doesn't help.

anyway, had decided to uninstall and use 360 essential instead. thanks roger for your assistance.

edit: this never happened with my other pc where i have admin account, only this pc with user account. so is there anyway i can set permanent admin permission to driverupdater.exe somewhere in uac? i'm on windows 7 home 32 bits.

I also get the UAC for Driver Updates. I disallow it but you may be able to set a rule in Window's firewall for

    C:\Program Files\360\Total Security\Utils\360DrvMgr\DriverUpdater.exe

Block incoming and outgoing. I am going to do this and see if I still get popups.

Did not work. I will now try renaming the file.

It can cause some issues. On a computer I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 on recently, it led to there being an update that was trying to be installed, every time I rebooted. Presumably, this wouldn't have happened if I just updated from Windows Update.

Having said that, it can be very useful on Windows 7 computers with only 2GB of RAM. Windows Update can use over 1GB of RAM at times, which slow down computers with little RAM installed, to a crawl. 360's Patch Up, uses significantly less RAM.

Does anyone have any experience with the firewall on the premium version of 360?

How does this product fare for 0-day protection? Behaviour blockers included?

Nope. And any new upgrade will overwrite it.

Cruelsister1 has some videos on youtube that show how effective it is against zero day. I don't have any experience with the paid version.
