It did. The company I work for has to comply with the GDPR and I assume now we'll have to collect sales tax for all states. I could claim it is job security but we didn't really need more to do. I remember when computers and the internet were fun and exciting. Oh well. :(

I guess it's a good time for folks that work as compliance consultants to find work. :D

It was until corporate America pulled their heads up out of their trough and set their beady, piggy little eyes on it.

Of course hyperbole, conspiracy theories, and lack of reason have to enter the discussion.

In India we have had such rules in place for a while now. I don't see it as a bad thing, this will now help weaker states and also bring price stabilisation across the offline and online shopping formats.

When such things were implemented in India, price differences between mom and pop stores and online fronts decreased. At the end of the day, everyone is competing for customers and they will do discounts to gain customer base, more so that many will now see a level playing field.

Bad if you're a seller or distributor, but good for a consumer.

And therein my friend @Mrkvonic is where IMO the members of this spectacular forum hold such a great advantage in many areas of expertise even if not experts. A lot has been seen, experienced, and determined, simply by being present before Windows evolution is grown to where it is now and moreover, before it was ever incorporated into the general public's portable wireless handsets as it eventually became.
