The reason is, that downloads from other sites, than http://www.pcmgr-global.com/ may contain malware, or adware. If i recall correct, it was Adwcleaner, to first flag Tencent PC-Manger. ZAM followed later, so i assume they use the same data-base... This matter was already controversy discussed in the ZAM thread
It's been detected by AdwCleaner and Zemana for a long time. Zemana claim the detection is becuase the Chinese version (not the internation version you will be using) has beem known to be distributed with some trojans. Personally, I've never seen actual evidence of PC Manager actually being malicious, and I've installed on a number of computers.
Thks for info I noticed that with the install of the basics of the program detecting viruses is low a bit ,it needs the other 2 avira and bitdefender to make it worthwhile but with that comes high ram usage. Anyone see this/
I think you might be referring to 360 Total Security. Tencent only includes Bitdefender signatures, not Avira, and they are enabled by default. In 360, you can optionally enable both Avira and Bitdefender signatures.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Tencent-PC-Manager.shtml softpedia updated the version, but still have the warning
I have seen that they continue to list new versions, even though they removed the download links, which is surprising. PC Manager continues to be one of the top scoring antiviruses in tests.
I just downloaded this today and am giving it a try after Avira kept bugging out on me. Is there any way to temporarily disable protection? I've also disabled the "Internet Shield" functions because there's no detail about what it's doing. It's supposedly scanning links or payment info? No thank you.
You can exit PC manager by right clicking on system tray icon, and then run PC Manager again when you need protection again.
Well now I just feel dumb. I'm so used to AV programs not allowing you to disable them that I just thought that little exit was to close the system tray window for it.
New version v12.3.26458.901 was installed yesterday on my machine, no idea whether it has been available by the weekend already, came back from holiday. @ Tencent developers: Started trialing the product, the 0day protection by the BB seems to work quite good (I set File System Protection to "high"). However, there were some AutoRuns left, two were related to removed on-execution malware, the third one was not runable (probably dependant on another malware intercepted and autoquarantined by the BB). Spoiler: AutoRuns Tencent PC Manager needs a better AutoRun prevention, this could be done with an alert every time a app tries setting an AutoRun?
Since the last update I can no longer right-click the icon in the taskbar. Same thing happened on my wife's PC...I guess this will get uninstalled now too unless I can find a fix. Maybe a Windows update broke it or something?
Maybe it will be fixed with the next program update. It's a week since the last program update, so I'm guessing it won't be long before another update is released.
A new version is available: Tencent PC Manager v12.3.26474.901 (24 August, 2017) http://www.pcmgr-global.com/
Unfortunately the right-click menu on the icon is still broken preventing me from accessing some of the interface settings or exiting. Sometimes it works right after reboot but then it either disappears completely, or it's there but clicking on the buttons do nothing. Same thing on my wife's PC...

I don't know even if it possible to contact them. Your best bet, may be to post on the forum for the Chinese version. I emailed Tencent, with some questions regarding PC Manager, via an email address listed on one of the English language pages on tencent.com, two years ago and never received a reply. It's a shame that they have no contact details, on the global page for PC Manager.
Thank you for the input! It's a pity you did not receive any reply :/ Have had that experience by another chinese vendor as well... I now tried the "Contact Us" button on the TCPM Global Homepage (https://www.pcmgr-global.com/, scroll down). It leads to https://guanjia.qq.com/market.html Contacted Mr. Joe Yang, responsible for Software Management (e.g. Software Updates). Did sent him above request, also translated by Google Translator. Asked him to forward the request if not in charge. If I get any reply, I'll update this thread. As for the forum, I need to get hands on a Android mobile, it seems you need some app to register?
I just had a look and you need Tencent's QQ messenger app. When you go to register on the forum, there is a QR code shown on the screen. You scan the QR code with QQ on your phone and then your browser goes to the registration page. I have the same experience with you, with some other Chinese companies. not replying to emails. But, some companies do reply.
Thank you for pointing out! Right now downloading WeChat and will give it a try then Qihoo 360 did sometimes reply, depending on what I asked them. For example, on reporting malware bypasses to them, I never got any reply. Neither did I from Tencent (but the automated receipt message).
Yes, you're right Finally managed to register and to post: http://bbs.guanjia.qq.com/thread-5831417-1-1.html Google Translator messed up the subject though. I hope we will still get the answer
