"Pentagon Wants Cloud Secure Enough to Hold Nuke Secrets...

The Defense Department’s Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud will be designed to host the government’s most sensitive classified data, including critical nuclear weapon design information and other nuclear secrets...

...the winning company must be able to obtain the full range of top secret government security clearances, including Department of Energy “Q” and “L” clearances necessary to view restricted nuclear data...

...[T]he Defense Department’s requirement for individual “Q” clearances for personnel at the contractor that wins JEDI suggests the cloud may be able to 'host information pertaining to nuclear weapons or classified information pertaining to the deployment and utilization of nuclear weapons.'..."

Sounds like someone wants to make those secrets more vulnerable to hackers than they are already.

The report was initially labeled “For Official Use Only,” restricting its public release. After complaints from congressional staff and an inquiry by Bloomberg News, Pentagon officials removed the restriction for everything except projected spending figures for the next five fiscal years..."

I know for a fact that the folks at Los Alamos In NM are NOT onboard with this line of thinking. Not one bit.

If they wanted to do a nuclear 9/11 that would be a good way to claim your "terrorists" got access to nuclear technology...

I fear more about close collaboration between government and military with cloud services, than leak of these documents.
If they would use a few layers of strong cryptography, USA-based cloud services it is going to be hard to pown. And those who can pown these services, are well-funded government agencies, who know how to build nuclear weapon and mostly have them already anyway.

"After ...[The White House] cites Amazon concerns, Pentagon re-examines $10 billion JEDI cloud contract process

The White House has instructed newly installed Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper to re-examine the awarding of the military’s massive cloud-computing contract because of concerns that the bid would go to Amazon, officials close to the decision-making process said. The 11th-hour Oval Office intervention comes just weeks before the winning bid was expected to be announced and has now left a major military priority up in the air, the officials said,...

The ... directive represents a departure from what is usually a scripted bureaucratic process...

As recently as Sunday, the Defense Department defended its plans to move ahead with a single company for what is known as the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI), a $10 billion contract that would be one of the government’s most expensive information technology procurements ever..."
