Just got this pop up few days back. Seems a nice feature if true. I think all browsers should natively Guard against this.
I don't think that warning comes from the browser, but from your adblocker (adguard) https://github.com/hoshsadiq/adblock-nocoin-list/
as you can see adguard already is blocking crypto-miner scripts - NO need to install another blocker. @aigle - disable notifications of adguard, at least it is doing its job very well. on the other hand you have visited a not legal page to dig a serial - so you have to count with malicious actions. so i consider it not good to run firefox without additional security, eg sandboxie -> http://sandboxie.com/ when visiting such sites. and adblock is no good to use alone.
I was not clear. I know it is from adguard. I was just thinking instead of an extension, the browser itself should be able to protect against this.
Yes it gives great protection but I dropped it as I loose some functionality on many web pages. To be honest I never encountered a real malware while online.
forget it, junk. chrome is using eset and its own services against malware and malicious sites. i dont use adguard, its too limited for me - and in special for such sites i would protect some more. /me uses uBlock original (available for firefox AND chrome - and i can exchange settings with no issues, some kind of "sync")
Is component with Eset's definitions used in real-time also? I thought it was only used in occasional scans performed by Software Reporter Tool. If that's true then it wouldn't prevent malware installation.
I believe its primary purpose is to look for PUA/PUP and possibly malicious extensions: https://www.eset.com/int/about/news...-works-with-google-to-halt-dangerous-malware/
what was first, the chicken or the egg? yes, right - microsoft and eset extensions only work on files. but - windows defender is already scanning new files - no need for any extension. second - google safelist is fed by virustotal, vt is fed from many sources, results were shared to all participating services - also eset. why do chrome need eset when is already fed with its safelist? thats why i call it "junk". futile from my view. not sure about chromium (which is not used very often now), but all my browser are supported from uBlock - an independent service and several lists to chose. files are checked manually - windows defender would do it in background. nevertheless i dont open files from the web without caution and only virtual the first time.
