Thanks for that. I ask because I was on the Slow ring of the Windows Insider Programme and am currently at 17134.5. I'll opt out now to remain stable, as it were.

Didn't help! The upgrade still failed - no explanation why.

Here's a guide from Logitech, but it's relevant for everyone, not just users of their products.

Installing from "Check Window's Update's" updated on 4 systems X64 (my 2 systems & 2 of the children) but a smaller Asus laptop that I own keeps reverting back to the FCU. (probably due to having my HD compressed).

Going to try on the smaller laptop with the media creation tool.

Do you have enough disk space?
    Did you disabled (temporary) AV?
Sometimes old device drivers block update? Maybe try this command in elevated cmd.exe (do backup before):
    Code:
    rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN

    Krusty,

This might be old info now. I wrote this for the original Win10...

Download the ISO from a Linux OS or boot disk.

Updated one PC so far, which went flawless, only the privacy settings have been reverted for me. One thing I am noticing though is that everytime I start the computer, Edge is preloading in the backgrund , which it is not allowed to do, at least according to the settings for background apps. Is someone else seeing that? I tried a few things to stop svchost from starting it, but none worked for me. Any suggestions?

    Plenty.
No, but I'd rather uninstall Norton if that is an issue. Hasn't been for previous upgrades.
Doing that now in Windows using a Chrome User-Agent Switcher extension.

Windows automatically installs (and sometimes downloads) device drivers for some connected devices. Plug and play style. These drivers are installed in system even if somebody does not uses them anymore. This command tries to automatically remove unnecessary device drivers.
Windows automatically installed these drivers, so even if you will use these devices in future it should be able to install these device drivers again. But of course it is better to do backup before.

All the issues of Windows 10 version 1803 you may run into
If you have installed the latest feature update for Windows 10, the April 2018 Update, already on a PC, you may have run into one or multiple issues already using the new version of Windows 10.

ISO finally finished downloading. Burning to DVD now.

Why DVD? I've had more luck with DVDs than Flash Drives.

Well, the upgrade procedure using the ISO DVD from within Windows (to upgrade) acts differently to installing from Windows Update. We will see...

Upgraded successfully to 1803 on one machine so far through Windows update, performance speed seems snappier. I had uninstalled Avira, Shadow Defender, and Sandboxie as a precaution.
