That was Maxthon site using FF, no luck in Chromium or Cyberfox portables either - eventually got it through Softpedia..

    Weird :cautious:
I have tried in all other browsers i have installed (+portable) and the download was always successfull.
But ok, there are mirrors available to download it from if the download fails from the main website.

    I'm pretty sure 5.2.1.200 is a beta.

Don't get me started about the nag screen.

Yes, v5.2.1.200 is a beta. v5.2.1.1000 is the "final version" which was released some hours ago.

Not certain i could trust this one with it being chinese in origin plus the bad press.Looks and sounds a nice browser though.

There's a lot of it about lol.

I've used Maxthon for years, I've never believed the FUD, but that nag screen (above) could be the final straw and I can see Mx and myself parting if they don't fix it!

The default browser is at risk? lol I wonder if this is one of those unintentional, weird translations?

I originally started that thread, but it got merged. I stopped using Mx a while ago, then gave it another go, but after a load of bugs went back to Vivaldi as my default. I really think it's time for Maxthon and myself to part ways.

Looks like windows is not "seeing" maxthon as an installed browser.I understand people on that forum were using portable versions and that could be a problem.I have basillisk and waterfox on my linux computer but the system is not seeing these as installed to set as a default.

Thanks @mood as always. I just hope they keep improving it to the point of being awesome.

When I first tried it a couple years ago it was a pleasant change. The most recent version (I use portable only) is really different and am warming up to it again.
