PrivacyPal: Does uninstalling leave the settings, or does it revert to previous settings, or to default settings?
Privacy Pan installed and some settings changed (personalized mode). PP uninstalled, then re-installed. Noticed that settings in personalized mode was the same (as they adjusted during the first installation. So I think that uninstalling leaves the settings as is.
Thanks anon. Your observation confirmed. Settings are kept, even after removing all traces, and reinstalling. Uninstalled it, because I want no launcher, and no offers.
I know, that's a PIA for free users. As I have the paid version, I have the launcher thing already installed so there is no problem for me.

Good heads up! Read the article and agree that is not a good practice for a company in the privacy business, and should be stopped. But it's probably not worth over-reacting to. The Facebook pixel can only show that you may have visited a VPN home page, but is unable to actually track your VPN use. That still would enable you to be profiled as a potential VPN user, for what that is worth.

Is anyone else having trouble with Avira Antivirus (free) today? Here are some of the issues: 1. When running right-click scans from Windows Explorer, the Avira window pops up, and then instantly closes. 2. Cannot toggle real-time protection on/off (receive an Error 500 from Avira). 3. Cannot open Avira Antivirus configuration window (receive an Error 500 from Avira). On Win7 box, I've tried uninstalling, downloading the latest installer, and then re-installing, but that did not help. Any ideas?
Try to uninstall Avira and before reinstalling it, use Avira Registry Cleaner to clean up old installations.
