    I have a question:
Everytime I open some apps (like CCleaner for example) I have a promp from simplewall that the exe will go online, I click on ignore (block) and the block rule for CClenaer is created on simplewall. But even if blocked everytime I open CCleaner I have some prompt from simplewall (because the App will pass trough another port or ip). Can I click "Disable notification" ? this means that I have no more prompts fron firewall but the program CCleaner will be automatically blocked? I have set simplewall in Whitelist (allow selected).
    Thanks

Yes, you can click disable notification. It will disable notification from ccleaner only. And only ccleaner will remain blocked from accessing internet connection.

For me is easy, light and effective.
I have tryed almost every FW in my life, years with Comodo, privatefirewall on XP and 7, windows firewal notifier, tinywall on windows 8 and now 10 (they are frontend for the inbuild Windows Firewall but no more longer developed).
SimpleFW for me is a good program I like it.

Please forgive my ignorance on this, but I haven't tried this yet. Aside from running the portable version a few times just to have a look through the GUI. I haven't enabled filtering as of yet. Just a basic question for anyone who can help.

What does simplewall do with all of the firewall rules that are already in place on the system by default with Windows Firewall? Or when you disable WF to use simplewall instead, does simplewall just use it's own rules and not WF rules?

Thank you. The development from this app keeps on moving along really well and I am impressed. I like the open source nature of this and use several of this developers' other apps.

This is the main reason why I don't dare to test it on my Win10 machine

One other question that I had is whether or not there is a "logging only" type of mode in which connections are not actually blocked, but simply logged. This would mainly be for creating some rules in the beginning for me. Does simplewall have something like this?

no don't have only log mode and allow everything(block selected mode should have such option:doubt:). but have dropped packet notification which prompt you so you can create rule for app.
you can create custom rule in setting.if its ip then even no need GUI of simplewall to be running.
but if you create host rule like www.google.com
the GUI should be running to block request

@co22 OK, that dropped packet notification should be sufficient. Thank you! :thumb:

Now over 6 months with SimpleWall, I have been quiet because there are no problems. v2.2.2

    One suggestion/question:

Can there be an option to make the "Exit" button minimize to tray - and not really Exit the program ?
