FWIW ~ Just found Clean Bookmarks by Vitaly. Does exactly what I was looking for. I added all my frequent use sites to new Popup folder. Now, one click access to drop down bookmarks menu, with favicons, to all my frequent use bookmarks conveniently placed at the end of address bar. ghacks user js is to handle with care. it its recommended to copy only entries into user.js where the result is known! nevertheless it wont stop firefox to load safe lists and create other stuff - although they are not sent.
