Exactly, if I understand it right.
An user may have set already other preferences (made tweaks) for whatever reasons. It should be possible to get back to those settings (!) and not only to the "default" settings ("default" meaning in the way MS or any other company (Adobe comes to mind) wants to set them)!

+1, maybe a option to save the user actual settings before applying the one made by SH.

Yes, it would good if a snapshot of the current settings were made before applying SH settings. I've made a few changes to my machines but I may not remember what they were if I had to set them manually again.

I am in this same camp. Likely is a very simple change to add that so let's stay tuned.

I've just installed on on machine. Just to be clear, until I click "Apply Selected" nothing is changed, right? Or...

The dev mentioned somewhere that when you close the program, changes are saved, even if you didn't click "Apply Selected"

SH has the same scroll bar bug as OSA.

+1 on having some sort of backup of current system settings prior to use.

I don't believe that is true. I opened up the portable ver. yesterday for a "look see." Then closed it without saving/applying anything. Nothing on my system was changed including the creation of any new Win firewall outbound rules.

No program like this should change settings unless user specifically does so via clicking on "Apply" or "Save" button in the app.

I set an Restore point before I ran it. I have far too many settings that I had already set.

I think you're right. When I clicked Apply my desktop shortcuts flashed several times as I guess each setting was changed and I was prompted for a restart. That didn't happen just closing the program.

Indeed, changes needs a reboot, so unless you do it, i dont believe any changes will be made.

Although I won't use it except short test as I'm satisfied with my scripts which cover more, I think if it can apply changes to all users on PC at once, it will be convenient. This can be done by loading each user's registry hive (usually located directly under user folder, named NTUSER.DAT), make change, and save it and unload.

I dunno. I think you just can't go wrong applying the settings that best suit your personal usage. Many and most are there for the clicking.

In my case Im old hat and use VBS scripts for automation so I can't just willy nilly cancel WScript with SysHardener, HOWEVER with the introduction of the recent OSA, that is been fully addressed since you can pick n choose those you use to EXCLUDE.

Speaking only on scripting matters as far as it goes on this end anyway

novirusthanks seems to keep rolling things out that are super stable and unmatched efficiency in helping keep PC safety where it belongs

I suppose I can use this along with my current setup (sig below) including OSA and ERP?

It only makes changes to Windows that you can make yourself anyway and doesn't run in real-time, so you shouldn't have any problems.

I was not clear, I meant I have bunch of scripts to change Windows and other program (including Adobe, Office, etc.) settings for security & privacy, and they're more comprehensive.
But obviously that is not for everyone, so such a reputable company like NVT made tools for everyone is good, thus made quick test as I may recommend it for others once it matures.
And I felt need for running it on each user is inconvenient if one has many users on PC, but not sure how many others agree.
