Much of this thread is about the fact that there isn't.
Or do you ask if it is now added in the release version?

I would think that any "Premium" security software would include a quarantine! ;)

We would think so but not Sophos. Who can help us, is it available now? I would pay 2 € for quarantine feature ... :ninja:

I had really big problems uninstalling this software after testing... What a *** way of uninstalling. Revo uninstaller could not do it in the first try..wow.. "To uninstall you need to restart the PC".. and after that nothing. wow..

I don’t like the fact they took the free version from 10 managed PCs to only 3 and expect me to pay $50 a year for 10 managed. Yes I get more features but I still think it sucks.

    Hi everyone!

Anders from Norway here. I'm not new to this forum, but I've just registered.
It seems like the Sophos Home community is gone (where is it?), so I figured it was time to join you.

I have an initial questions and some (not revolutional) thoughts on Home Premium.
I've been beta testing Premium since the start, but uninstalled it around 6 months ago, because it deleted the Opera installer while I was uninstalling it.

Today I installed Premium again on this laptop, and uninstalled other security apps for test purposes at first.
I'm giving this laptop to my young son, and I like the idea that he doesn't have to make any desicions (yet).
You could say I fit the Sophos Home target group.

Well, here are my questions and thoughts for today:

    1. Edge (using it now):
Why is not Keystroke Encryption visible in Edge? Is it active?
And why does typing lag like #### with Edge and Premium here? It takes patience to write this (and forgive any typing errors I don't spot).

    2. The infamous auto delete:
I like the idea that unexperienced users don't have to make any desicions. I like the idea of a dashboard and no local control. That is why I'm giving it a try again. Sophos Home is not targeted at power users. It's target group are families and alike. But the auto delete should be kind of an auto quarantine. You should be able to restore those FP's from the dashboard. And that brings us to #3.

    3. With what I would say is an excellent web dashboard, why don't you make give the "administrator" the privelige to delete/restore potential threats? Except for configuring, all you can manage is to delete or ignore PUP's and PUA's. You know the computers are 'safe' - because Sophos have allready deleted all potential threats.

    Hi @Numan - welcome!

I had this issue with Sophos' anti-exploit product HitmanPro.alert, which seems to be integrated into Sophos home premium; I stopped using HMP because of unaddressed bugs in the standalone product. Sadly, between the input delays and weird alt+tab command latching (you perform an alt+tab operation and it sticks like you're holding it, when you're not), and weird network filter issues that have gone unfixed for over a year, I gave up.

Yeah, these are both important points and I wish Sophos would listen to the feedback they were so interested in getting, hahaha.

Same issue for me which keeps me from using Alert. Alt+Tab does not function properly between protected apps or something.

    1. I see the same with HitmanPro.Alert regarding keystroke encryption in Edge. Don't think it is supported. Otherwise no other issues with the current stable release of HMPA. Not using Sophos yet, so I cannot comment on typing lag.

    2. Lack of auto quarantine, and the use of mandatory auto delete, is the main thing that would prevent me from using Sophos Home Premium. With the AV that I currently use it is a snap to set an exclusion, and restore the file.

    3. Allowing a Sophos Home 'administrator' to restore from a file from quarantine is a good suggestion. :thumb:

What I like about Sophos Home is the snappy and instant blocking (amtso test). Ideal for children.
I also feel that it runs very smooth now, much better than during the beta.
The lagging I mentioned, is not related to Sophos Home Premium!
    Sorry for that.

But keystroke encryption is not visible in Edge, and Opera (browser) shows no notification of protected browser and no colored borders.

Otherwise, I feel the Beta testing was a joke. Not possible to send feedback from the Beta. I sent feedback through the forum, but never got any responds. We got a survey, but that only covered installation and initial scan +. I do not know what they wanted to achieve with the Beta testing.

Sophos Home has much going for it, but the HMP.A parts of it seems a little inconsistent (browsers).

I think we need @Alex_Sophos back on track.

this is true for the standalone HMP.alert product as well - it's buggy in lots of ways, and hasn't really gotten any better since sophos acquired surfright. i don't have a ton of faith that sophos will get it nailed down.

Question on Sophos Home Premium and Internet speed. My apologies if this is the wrong thread or forum... I purchased Sophos Home Premium (Windows) last week and installed it first on my Windows 10 laptop (now running Sophos Home User Interface), and later on my wife's laptop. I also un-installed our previous AV suite (Webroot Secure Anywhere). All Sophos protections are enabled. My problem is that my laptop's Internet speed is now substantially slower (dropping from 64 Mbps to only 4 or 5 Mbps download speed). But my wife's laptop, which is farther from our router, doesn't have this problem. My Sophos scan found nothing except 2 tracking cookies, and a Malwarebytes "second opinion" scan is also clean. Have any of you experienced this issue, or have any suggestions? I did not participate in the Beta testing, and really want this product to work well. Thanks

@CabinetMan I haven't got an answer for your. But, your post is an excellent example of why you should most definitely never buy security software without running the trial version first on the same computer you are going to use the paid version. That way, you can be sure that the antivirus won't cause any slowdowns or other issues on computer, before spending any money.

Thank you roger_m.... and thanks to all of you who devoted time to Beta-testing Sophos. You are absolutely right -- I made a foolish mistake to purchase before testing a trial version, even though there was a significant discount.

No - I guess they are still repairing computers due to the false positive disaster in July. :(
