Recent review of iolo System Shield from PCMag: http://au.pcmag.com/iolo-system-shield/50197/review/iolo-system-shield
years ago Iolo screwed my laptop and will never ever touch this again. but this was nice to know that they are going downhill anyway
It seems it was able to detect ransomware but nevertheless it allowed Ransomware to run. Not good Quick Summary of the Review:
PCMag is bias in their reviews. Keep that in mind. Their opinions should not even be taken under consideration.
Choose to accept or not. I cannot say. You guys are way too paranoid. If you believe PCmag, have at it. I am trying to help.
When criticising, it's only fair to offer at least a few verifiable facts to support one's statements.
They've always liked WSA.....I thought it was biased but now I like it just fine..So I believe they were right
I don't trust IOLO anyway but what is this.?.Sounds like all hype to me http://www.iolo.com/products/phoeni...P360&msclkid=82bfd8ffb7551e6d127d82650fb210cf
Compare their reviews to there ads and you will get the picture. I stopped bothering with them a long time ago
I agree with the fact that IOLO is total garbage(it has destroyed one system of mine, in my opinion, the only software I would touch is their Uninstaller)
The Uninstaller is from IObit, not Iolo. Iolo publishes System Mechanic and IObit publishes Advanced SystemCare, IObit Uninstaller, Driver Booster, IObit Malware Fighter and other software. If you are talking about IObit, the registry cleaner in Advanced SystemCare used to have issues with false positives. But, since I reported the issues to them a few years ago and they fixed them, it is now safe to use and won't cause any problems.
The one thing that iolo has got going for them is their licensing; you can activate on as many computers as you want.
Well, I'll be darned. Iolo. See System Mechanic all the time in PC World stores for crazy money. Used to own several licences for their products. System Shield was included in the Pro version of System Mechanic I was using. Never detected anything and I never found it to be as light as they claimed. By the time System Shield and System Mechanic loaded up all of their processes, my poor laptop was slower than it was prior to installing them. If you do get it I always found their pricing incentives for extra years to be really good.
How is this compared to F-prot, performance and detection wise? I wanted to try it but i couldnt seem to get a trial key from the setup @roger_m have you tried this recently?
@thanatos_theos I was too heavy for my liking, last time I used it. This would have been about a year ago.
I purchased the standalone version of iolo Privacy Guardian today, yet I got Phoenix 360 instead, which includes System Shield. Weird....
Far from it. It's not very good, but there are many lesser known antiviruses that are much worse than it.
