AFAIK there are no decent password manager extensions for Android browsers.
The usual password managers work fine on desktop, but often have their own Android browser, with (very) limited functionalities.
Have spent quite some time on trying to get extensions working, but gave up.

On my Android tablet, for non-banking sites I use Chrome password manager.
On my desktop PC use Roboform Everywhere as an extension to Chrome.

As I have saved quite a number of passwords in Chrome, whilst working on my desktop, I will be presented with 2 log-in methods:
Chrome autofill and a pop-up from Roboform. Obviously this is not ideal, but probably there is no alternative.
All financial sites, like Paypal, banking sites, they are filled in by Roboform only.

Question here: what are the views on having non-banking passwords saved in Chrome?

Vainly tried to find reviews on the Chrome password manager.
There are quite a number of reviews on normal password managers, Lastpass, Roboform, Dashlane, etc.
But hardly any on the built in browser password managers of Chrome and/or Firefox.
My Samsung tablet has its own browser, which is really an outstanding product.
Very fast and it syncs with Chrome. But it does not have a built in password manager, at least, not that I know of.

    Thanks.

It is very easy to extract passwords from major browsers' password managers (chrome, firefox, opera).
for banking sites, I would advice to not depend on any software whatever it is, but your brain, nothing can be 100% safe.
personally I use lastpass free only for non-important login data for sites and forums.

I am definitely not an expert... but AFAIK the Chrome passwords are accessible only when using the master password. Within Chrome settings->Advanced Settings, it says

    "
    Encryption options
For added security, Google Chrome will encrypt your data
(*) Encrypt synced passwords with your Google username and password
O Encrypt synced data with your own sync passphrase
    "

basically the functionality is about the same as a standalone password manager, i.e. you need a master password before accessing the passwords.
    The data is sent encrypted.
So, how easy is it to get the password data?
