I have no problems with Emsisoft Anti-Malware and HitmanPro Alert. But the issue with the latter and Sandboxie is not resolved yet...

To check I reinstalled Alert again which I have in my Downloads since August 6 2017. After that the Alert message appeared that there was an update, and that it would become effective after a reboot. I did not reboot, but instead opened Chrome. No problem.

Then I rebooted and opened Chrome again: a Sandboxie warning message appeared. This is with HitmanPro Alert 3.7.1 built 723.

    "SBIE2203"

    Just a little reminder... ; )

If you wish to run HitmanPro.Alert and Sandboxie next to each other for the moment you need to disable PrivGuard (Orange button, Process protection, Local privilege mitigation).
Also if you receive SBIE2203 messages you need to remove Chrome from the Exploit Migitations and after you have removed it there you need to add it to exclusions.

Beware this put's your Chrome protection completely in the hands of Sandboxie

If a user does one, or all steps? (disable PrivGuard, remove Chrome from the Exploit Migitations, add it to exclusions.)

Just rebooting didn't update. Downloaded and ran. It indicate some HMPA files needed to be removed before upgrading. Now running 3.7.3 729.

Sorry but I didn't have the time to read the whole thread.
I know his post is quite old but I quoted it for a reason.
The product is no longer a free tool, right?
I went to the website but it seems a license is required now.
This happened when Sophos bought it I guess?

    Thanks in advance.

HMPA has required a license for full functionality for some time before the merger with Sophos. It can still be used unlicensed with somewhat reduced functionality. When you first install it you should get a 30 day trial of the full product, so check it out.

I have the safety notification set for once per logon session, but since updated to 729 i get the flyout everytime i come out of sleep mode. If i disable the notification, i still get a flyout everytime i launch the browser.

I am a HMPA reseller. This week I have had this Windows 10 start menu failure happen to 5 computers: two times it happened just after rebooting to upgrade to HMPA build 729. On one today I uninstalled HMPA and the problem was gone, install again and it comes back. All 5 computers have Win 10 FCU 64bit, Windows Defender, HMPA 729, and MBAM premium 3.3.1
Is this really caused by HMPA?

Problem: start menu and task bar does not respond in Win 10 FCU 64 bit. Reboot does not fix it. Uninstall HMPA fixes it. It's doing it on my personal deskyop so I uninstalled HMPA.

I uninstalled Alert temporarily from machine w/Realtek PCI GBE Family Controller. I tried all the above, plus a registry modification, plus all Realtek drivers, network reset, etc. It's been an extremely frustrating and elusive problem, and signing out doesn't cut it as a permanent fix. I can't say from my perspective that it's definitely Alert, but the likelihood of getting this aggravating task host window/dead taskbar + Start is too closely correlated with Alert on the system. I've mentioned this possible connection before in this thread. A second machine w/Intel Ethernet controller runs Alert and Windows perfectly.

FYI, had this same bug on a machine with no third party software installed at all. There is a thread here for further reading.

I have a desktop and two laptops. 729 installed itself on one desktop and one laptop. Desktop has no issues. The laptop with 729, however, has issues with windows functions - I can't access them. I read here that others were also having issues upon installing 729 so I used ccleaner to uninstall 729 on the laptop and it is working fine again. Any solutions to this issue?

    <edit>
OK, quick update. My second laptop wanted to install 729 so I let it. It also wouldn't let me access windows functions. Uninstalling.
