Maybe it's you? Nope, Ubuntu Trusty tells us.

Let us mindblow ourselves. Today, I have a very important article to share - a review of Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, conducted to ascertain whether recent regressions and bad results in Dedoimedo distro testing are caused by software or hardware, run in a dual-boot configuration on a laptop with Nvidia graphics, with checks and comparisons against various recent Ubuntu-based and Gnome-based distributions, including look & feel, usability, fonts, network support - Wireless, Bluetooth, Samba, printing, multimedia support - HD video and MP3 playback, smartphone support - Android, iPhone and Windows Phone, package management, updates, resource utilization, performance, stability, hardware compatibility, proprietary drivers, webcam, suspend & resume, software, customization, and more. Ah, the good ole days.

I've been using Trusty since 2014. I'm not looking forward to having to upgrade one day. Maybe it will all be better in 18 months or so, the glass half full bloke inside me keeps saying ...

Mrk, I totally agree with your article.
And what is allarming is that it seems to be a trend in all OSes (Linux, Windows, Mac)...
Only exception seems to be debian 9.3.

Until 5 years ago I was like "yeah, a new version is coming". :D
Nowadays I am like "not again... time to block the updates/upgrades..." :ouch::isay:

Thanks for an excellent article indeed ! Do we lose anything security-wise by using 14.04 Trusty Tahr instead of 17.04/other versions ?
    Kindly advise thanks !

SKA, no, you lose nothing. It's still a fully supported system with updates and all.
