Best private alternative to Evernote that won't read, scan, your notes?

    Best private alternative to Evernote that won't read, scan, the contents of your notes?
    That will respect your privacy

    Depends on how you use Evernote.
    Standard Notes and Laverna work fine for me.

    This is a very good question. There are some open-source note-takers in Linux, but I haven't tried them.

    I like OneNote BUT I run this in an isolated virtual machine.

    I'm actually thinking of writing my own office suite plus encryption based on the Telerik WPF UI controls but with built-in encryption for every document, so that plaintext is never on the disk.
