    Probably true, not just in Europe but the US customer base too.
    It might even make US companies up their game to achieve a European standards certification.

    Probably but eve if so, protecting user data from being abused by companies is a way in right direction.

    That's true. Still, it's funny how EU politicians can talk up "privacy rules" without mentioning lawful access.
